"Foxtail, do you copy?"

It must've been early morning by now, the operator sounded like a different guy & her feet were beginning to drag, yeah, she was tired.

"This is Foxtail."
Jill Valentine sighed after reporting into her earpiece, eyes narrow as she scanned the side of a nearby cliff, too sheer to climb up.

"We're sending Alpha to your position, over."

Jill grumbled & clenched her fists, she didn't need help! The reason she took this mission was to prove to Chris that she would be just fine out in the field.

"Negative, target is within reach, over."

"Overruled."
Came the response after a moment's pause.
She cursed & kicked at the melting snow underfoot.

"This is bullshit!"
She yelled out to no one in particular. It's not as if she had been going around in circles either.

She was 2.8km from the village & had been keeping an eye on her distance. The only reasons she hadn't ventured further was because of those damn Lycans. The beasts could rot in Hell for all Jill cared, they were dumb sure but they were big & fast, natural predators of their environment so she had to be cautious of how she went exactly about her mission.

"Daniel, I can still get the sample-"

"Negative."
He cut her off & she responded with an irritated sigh that probably had him second guess his next choice of words carefully.
"Chris has gotten wind of something big happening in the area nearby, Jill. He doesn't want you to go alone. Most of the Hound Wolf squad is going to rendezvous with you in about half an hour."

She stomped her foot but gave a nod, she couldn't exactly argue with Chris' experience in the area, if he said something was up, then something was up.

"Alright."
She finally admitted defeat.
"But he's getting his ass chewed."

There was a chuckle on the other end & the blonde grinned. Daniel had been a good operator with her but not many were quick to agree with her methods of challenging almighty Redfield.

"Copy that, over & out."

She hummed & continued on, retracing her steps back to find an easier way up the cliff so she could pinpoint exactly which direction the village was in. Simple recon had been most of Jill's activity time whilst working with Chris. Though he worried, she told herself that recon was like riding a bike with training wheels; you need to learn how to ride first before you take them off. Getting back into the field after all this time hadn't been easy but damned if Jill Valentine wasn't determined or a stubborn soul. It's what had made her Chris' partner in the first place. They kept each other grounded, no matter the daunting fear of loss, they had each other to fight for. Jill's job was tasked with keeping an eye on this side of the village for anything new. If Chris received word of something big nearby, she agreed that it would be best if she was enforced by his squad in case of an attack.
