"You seem distracted... certain Metalhead on the mind?" Robin's voice pulled you from your daydream. Annoyingly she was right, as of recently, Eddie was one of the only things that occupied your mind. It seemed everywhere you went, you'd see his face. Walking through the halls, he'd be passing by. In math class, he'd sit himself beside you. At lunch, your eyes would catch his across the cafeteria. He was everywhere, and you weren't complaining.

His company was warm, nice. Speaking outside of the video store came naturally, although it was just small talk, the sweet smiles you shared made every conversation worth it. It seemed the sleeping on his shoulder incident hadn't bothered him so at the very least that was a positive.

"Shut up Robin... I don't snark at you about Vicky..." you answered in return, her smug smile falling as she rolled her eyes and looked over to where the fair-skinned girl sat.

"Look... not to push you over the edge y/n but Munsons walking this way..."

Robin's words sent a jolt of nerves across your entire being. Was he going to sit here? With you? AT LUNCH? He was known for shitting on any social group apart from his own so this was definitely going to get people talking, and as someone who hated attention, well that scared you.

That was why this crush scares the shit out of you. Eddie took all attention negative and positive on his chin, lapping in it. You could never be that girl, someone who matched his chaotic and confident energy. It just wasn't in your nature.

"L/n... Buckley... This seat taken?"

You were kind of paralysed on the spot, your mouth hanging open like a fish just at the mere sight of him. Luckily your friend knew you pretty well.

"Be our guest..." Robin muttered kicking your foot in an attempt to pull you from your stewing. It sort of worked, you closed your mouth and took a small bite of your sandwich, eddies eyes didn't leave you.

"So l/n... a little birdy told me what your favourite movie was... I was thinking of renting it..."

You couldn't help but furrow your brows in confusion. You knew what your favourite movie was, but that was a secret you kept hidden since it was sort of embarrassing. There was no way he actually knew right? Maybe he was bluffing, if you lied he'd just go along with it.

"What the breakfast club... you just watched that?"

"No m'lady I don't think that's the movie I'm thinking of..."

You could feel the vibrations from robins body as she laughed, her eyes going from you to Eddie, back and forth like a game of ping pong.

"I have no idea what you're talking about... and uh... I need to talk to the librarian about a book so uh..."

You grabbed your bag and smiled meekly before racing out of the cafeteria, a pair of rampageous footsteps could be heard behind you. Eddie fell in step beside you, his eyes sparkling with mischief. You were doomed.

"I got chills... they're multiplying...."

An almost demonic groan left your lips as you covered eddies mouth with your hand, pushing him against a locker. Now Eddie would be lying if this wasn't turning him on, who knew this quiet girl could be so... dominant.

"Okay... OKAY! Fine... it's grease okay my favourite movie is grease... just please shut up... it's embarrassing enough I don't need the entire school knowing..."

You removed your hand and folded your arms in front of yourself, the embarrassed pout remaining as you stared up at him. Were his cheeks pink or were you imagining things?

"Princess that's nothing to be ashamed of... I mean I never took you for a singer but Dustin said you love singing summer nights in the car so-"

If you weren't so focused on Dustin outing your guilty pleasure, you would have noticed how your stomach flipped at the casual nickname Eddie through at you. You were his princess?

"Dustin told you? Oh, I'm going to murder that little shit..."

Eddie let out a hearty chuckle, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out the Polaroid of Dustin dressed as a princess. Your laugh was enchanting, it floated around his ears and tickled his heart. Eddie the freak Munson was going soft.

"No need for murder... I tell you what... play a little game with me and the photo is yours to use at your disposal..."

The idea intrigued you, what exactly would this game entail. I mean I guess the only way to find out was to play.

"Okay... fine what is this little game... it's not dungeons and dragons is it? Because I still don't really understand what you even do..."

Another precious laugh left his lips as he shook his head dramatically, thick black tendrils of hair nearly whipping you in the face. He was so... pretty.

"No... how about a game of twenty questions? You have a free period right? We could go to the woods..."

"How do you know I have a free period?"

Because I've been in love with you for the best part of the year and I've practically memorised your schedule just so I can bump into you...

"Princess... one thing ya gotta know about me is I'm very observant..."

The warmth emitting from your cheeks confirmed his cover-up had worked. Nice.

"Well you're right... so uh lead the way..."

And so he did. In a brief moment of spontaneity and confidence, Eddie grabbed your hand and pulled you along, practically running through the school halls. He yelled all types of things as you both dodged half of the school body, just one being...

"Move out the way assholes precious cargo coming through..."

As you both ran, your fingers slowly intertwined. His hands were calloused and cold, you wanted to press small butterfly kisses all over his palms, let your eyes scan every scar and indent from his many years of being a slave to his guitar. You often daydreamed about him playing a song for you, something soft and romantic. You would bet all your money that he could have had a gentle singing voice, a swift juxtaposition to the screaming in the songs blasting from his headphones most days.

Once you both reached this secret bench he spoke so fondly of, he reluctantly pulled his hand away from yours. He wasn't surprised when he felt how soft they were, he imagined that's how clouds felt, gentle like a dove's wings. If you were an animal he was sure you'd be a dove.

Eddie sat himself down opposite you, resting his chin in his hands. He needed to keep his ogling under control because right now, he just wanted to stare. He had to get his head back in the game, he'd come up with this game for a reason. Eddie wanted to find out anything and everything about you, he'd compile all of this information into the perfect declaration of his care towards you, and finally ask you out.

"So... ask me the first question then... that's how this works right?"

"Yeah... yeah sorry uh okay l/n... let's start with an easy one... worst date you've been on... oh and with who?!"

Right. You could go about this two ways. One, make up an elaborate lie about some made up date you had with a guy Eddie wouldn't know. Two, come clean about never actually being on a date and your complete lack of relationship history, running the risk of making him think you were a total dud. Steve's words echoed in your head, if he doesn't like you for you he's not worth it. Since when did THE Steve Harrington become so wise, who the fuck was he, Yoda?

"Well uh... see the thing is I've actually never been on a date... or even asked out for that matter... so uh you can go ahead and laugh now..."

There was dead silence and you were waiting for the impending raucous laughter. But it never came.

"Why would I laugh? I mean shit how has no one seen how amazing you are?"

Eddie looked genuinely concerned, and your heart melted. You almost wanted to cry, nobody had ever actually looked at you like that, like really looked at you. It was as if you were some spectacular piece of art in a museum, as if he wasn't sure how long he'd get to look at you. You merely shrugged in reply, shying away under his gaze.

"So uh next question?" You muttered weakly.

The next hour or so flew by with a range of random questions were thrown at you. Eddie had this superpower where he could immediately lift your mood after a question made you particularly uncomfortable. Nobody had made you laugh that hard before. Eddie Munson was serotonin in human form, and well, as scary as it was, you loved him.
