Falling In Love with Peter Ballard.

CHAPTER ONE: How It Began.

September 8th, 1978.

Anastasias POV
Today is finally my first day as a orderly. I passed my tests, went through the medical section of helping kids, and proved I'm trustworthy to be an orderly. Usually only men here are orderly's and thankfully I'm lucky enough to be one. Women here in the lab are usually nurses, child care takers in the nursery, or an actual doctor like Dr. Ellis.

Earlier today, papa gave me a number tattoo on my left wrist. I got "004". After that he took me to get my uniform which is just a basic white top and dress pants. He told me I can usually wear any bottom, but go for pants incase something happens with any kids.

Once he left the room I changed into the uniform. As I was buttoning up my shirt, the door burst open. A tall, blonde, blue eyed guy walked in and thankfully stopped midway.

"Hey! Can you knock?" I asked startled a bit while buttoning the top of my shirt.

He looked at me then quickly moved his gaze to the floor from my expression, "I'm sorry, miss. I didn't expect you to be changing in here."

His soft voice intrigued my ears. His tone was soft and sounded just the slightest bit guilty, but I could tell he was truly sorry, "No, its fine. I shouldn't have changed in a walkable room full of staff working down the halls."

"I think all new staff has made that mistake, don't worry." He looked back at me and sent a slight smile, fiddling with something in his hand.

"Must be the nerves. I'm Anastasia by the way. Anastasia Meddows." I watched as his expression changed. I couldn't tell if it was good or bad honestly.

He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and stepped forward, "Just the girl I'm looking for." His octave changed to a lower tone.

"Excuse me?" I raised my eyebrows and bite my inner lip anxiously.

He then held out a badge with my photo, name, and number, "Papa wanted me to give you your badge."

"Oh thank you..." I took it from him and let out a quiet breath I didn't realize I was holding in.

He lowered his hand to his side, "Peter. Peter Ballard."

"Thank you, Peter." I smiled softly at him and he smiled back.

That was the first time I've actually held a conversation with Peter. When I was working in the medical section I knew who he was and we've exchanged a couple words with each other, but we've never had that long of a conversation since the medical times.

I always saw him around the halls, but I was too scared to actually say something. But every time we passed each other or saw another in a room he would smile at me. A genuine smile. Even if it looked like he was having a hard day.

Peters POV
Her smile was a great way to start off the day. After I gave her the badge I walked to the doorway and waited for her. I have to give her a walkthrough of the job since the other orderly, Alec, was with Papa. I watched as she struggled to put it on her belt loop.

"Need help?" I let go of the door handle and walked towards her.

She sheepishly looked up at me and nodded slightly. I held back a smile and leaned down, grabbing her badge. As I attached it to the loop, our faces were somewhat close to each other. I tried ignoring it, but couldn't help but glance at her lips once. Her face went light pink. Great she saw me.

I quickly stood up straight once I finished, "It'll get easier the more you put it on everyday."

"Thank you." She smiled a little and stepped back.

I nodded and walked back to the door, "Our other orderly for the rainbow room is busy currently, so Papa sent me to help you out today."

I wrote this in class...🧍‍♀️I was in a hurry and wrote down a random scenario for their first conversation LMFAO. Might change it, but its alright. ALSO I promise the chapters will get longer! I'm still trying to get into the groove of writing.
I'm also not sure if I want to add the mini paragraphs after they first finish talking; "that was our first time we talked🤭😩😍🥹" LIKE? IDK IF THATS GOOD TO ADD.
