Peter was in his usual spot and looked over at us. I gave him a "we're fucked" look like he did before breakfast. He sighed and nodded, understanding it didn't go well...

3rd person perspective

After their shift in the rainbow room, Peter and Anastasia escorted the kids out and brought them to their rooms. Down the hall, Papa stood by the interrogation room waiting for the two young adults.

Once they got done, Alec brought the two towards Papa and entered the room. There were two security guards standing in front of two chairs set out. They both had stern looks on their faces, their hands behind their backs, and each had a taser in one of their hands. Papa told Alec he could leave then told Anastasia and Peter to sit.

"Do you know why you two are here tonight?" Papa said as he paced in front of the two sat in the chairs.

Anastasia and Peter both shook their head no in unison.

"You are here because you won't tell me the truth about what happened that day in the bathroom."

Anastasia looked down at the floor then back at Papa, "I already told you what happened."

"But you didn't tell the truth." Papa turned his gaze towards her.

Anastasia bit the inside of her cheek before speaking, "And how do you know that?"

"Well you see, I came inside the bathroom and saw you both with blindfolds on." Papa looked between Anastasia and Peter.

Peter's eyes widened slightly as he watched the guard in front of Anastasia hold a taser out, "Why didn't you do anything then?"

"I'm curious about what you two did. So...what did you guys do?" Papa nodded at the guard in front of Peter to hold his taser out, "Tell the truth and they won't harm you."

Anastasia glanced at Peter, "We were just going into the void to see if it would work with two people."

"Did it work?" Papa stopped pacing and crossed his arms.

She nodded, "Yes."

"What happened then?" He pondered for a second, "Why did you want to explore the void."

Peter talked before Anastasia could, "We found nothing. We were just curious."

"Zap him," Papa told the guard.

The guard brought the taser to Peter's neck and started tasering him. Peter tensed up as the taser hit his skin, immediately holding on to the chair handles as pain ran through his veins.

Anastasia gasped as she watched him squirm in pain."Stop! I'll tell you what we saw if you stop hurting him! Please." She pleaded to Papa.

Papa held his hand up to the guard to stop, "Then what actually happened."

"I wanted to see my mother." Anastasia let out a shaky voice while speaking.

Papa's eyes widened slightly as he stepped closer to her, "Did it work?"

"Yes...we first found her in the hospital. Then all of a sudden Peter and my mother weren't there. Like I was actually present in the past from when I got taken." She held back her tears and made sure her voice didn't shake.

Papa stepped back in shock. He has never heard of anything like this before. He never knew two people could go into the void and even go into memories of another person's head, "Is that all that happened."

"Yes." Anastasia lied.

He glared at her and held up his hand to her guard, "Don't lie to me, 004."

Anastasia's guard brought the taser to her neck and started tasing her.
Anastasia whimpered and cried out in pain, "More happened!"

"Then stop lying and tell me!" Papa stopped the guard and lowered his voice.

Anastasia wheezed for air, "The day she went to the police she came home and started drinking. The next thing I saw was her writing at my desk, it was my 13th birthday, and she was writing me something. Then you showed up." The last part caused Peter to lift his head up and look at her with a confused look.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Papa denied.

She coughed as she started laughing, "Don't lie to me, Papa. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Winter of 1973."

He tensed up, "Taze her."

And again, the guard started to tase her. She cried out in pain, gripping her hands onto the chair handles. Peter had to look away and shut his eyes, trying to block out her cries in pain. He didn't want this to happen to her. He thought he could get away from Papa from finding out. Peter had failed Anastasia.

"Please, please..." She strained and yelled once the level of the taser went up.

Papa signaled to the guard to stop. The guard moved away so Papa could kneel down to her level, "Whatever you saw wasn't true-"

"You tried telling my mother I was dead. No matter how many times you told her she wouldn't believe you because she had hoped I was still out there. And she was right, but I was and still am trapped inside your prison you call a lab." Anastasia stared into Papa's eyes as tears poured out of her own.

Papa, who was clearly guilty and uncomfortable, stood up straight, cleared his throat, and walked to the door, "Take them back to their rooms."

The two guards nodded and yanked the fragile orderlies out of their seats, dragging them to their rooms. Alec stood by the rainbow room and watched as his coworkers got thrown into their rooms. He felt guilty for not doing anything but had to shrug it off since the act was already done.

One hour later.

Anastasia's POV

My body ached as I sat in bed. I was already changed into my nighttime clothes. I didn't do anything but lie awake trying to ignore the pain rushing through my body. As soon as I closed my eyes, a quiet and soft knock was heard from my door.

Oh god please don't be Papa. I forced myself out of bed and made my way to the door, opening it to find Peter, who was in his nighttime clothes as well, looking anxiously down the hallways.

"Peter?" I asked confused.

He shushed me before walking inside my room and shutting the door behind him, "I wanted to make sure you were okay."

"I'm fine...are you?" I asked while going back to lie down.

Peter nodded, "Yeah I'm okay." He pressed his lips together before sitting at the edge of my bed, "Did...did that actually happen?"

"Yes, it did...I wish it didn't, but it did." I huffed out a breath as pain shot through my veins while trying to relax.

He crawled his way right next to me, laying on his side to look at me, "You can talk to me y'know?"

"I know, Peter." I lifted my head up and smiled at him.

He smiled back while sighing, "I'm sorry about everything. I thought I could get us away from Papa and do this without anyone knowing. I didn't mean for you to get hurt."

My face dropped a little as he spoke. I watched his tired blue eyes move their gaze from me and down to his hands. He cracked his knuckles while talking, clearly anxious and remorseful.

"Hey, it's okay." I grabbed his chin and gently lifted it up so he would look at me, "I know you didn't mean for it to happen. I'm not mad or anything. Don't worry, okay?"

His eyes softened as he nodded, "Okay...I'm still sorry though."

"You don't have to be." I chuckled lightly while letting go of his chin, moving closer to him to wrap my arms around his torso. He immediately embraced me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders, resting his chin on top of my head,

"Can I stay here tonight?" His soft voice asked.

"Of course, you can, Peter. I'd like that a lot actually." I shut my eyes and relaxed by his touch.

3rd person perspective.

The two young adults slowly drifted off to sleep in each other presence. Both had butterflies in their stomachs and a sly smile on their faces. They could definitely get used to this, even while being in pain from the tasers.
