AUTHORS NOTE/TW: This chapter will contain alcoholism, drug-related moments, and death since I will be doing a flashback of Anastasia's mother after she has gone missing. I also want to say that Peter will only be in the beginning of this chapter. Other than that, it will be just Anastasia going through the years from her mom's perspective when she went missing.

3rd Person
Anastasia and Peter made it into the void. Together. Standing in complete darkness the two held hands still. Then suddenly a woman appeared to the right of them. The woman was in the hospital with many monitors around her. Anastasia quickly recognized her and immediately went over to her, letting go of Peters's hand while walking off.."Mother?" Anastasia asked quietly as she grabbed the woman's hand gently. Peter stood beside Anastasia and placed his hand on her back in a comforting way.
The lady suddenly opened her eyes and looked at the pair. Anastasia's eyes widened slightly, feeling the ground beneath her break. She quickly tried to grab Peter for stability, but he wasn't there anymore. Neither was her mom in the bed. Anastasia started panicking. Then suddenly she was falling. It felt very slow. Almost like she wasn't falling. Suddenly she was outside in her old neighborhood. Across the way, she saw her mother.
Summer of 1972
"Excuse me? Mr. Williams, have you seen Anastasia. She hasn't come home since yesterday." Faith, her mother, asked the elder gentleman who lived next door to them.
He shook his head and grew concerned, "I have not, Faith. Would you like some help looking?"
"No, that's alright. I think she is still at her friend's house." Faith answered and smiled at him to hide her nerves.
Faith then walked away from the man and quickly started walking to her car, getting inside.
Then the scenery changed. They were at the police station. Her mother was speaking to the chief of police.
"And your daughter's name is?" He asked her.
Faith fiddled with her ring, "Anastasia. Her full name is Anastasia Rae Meddows."
"When did you last talk to her and where?" The police officer looked at the woman.
She looked down then back up at him, "Just yesterday before she left. We were talking inside the house."
"Do you know why she left?" He could sense something was off.
Faith nodded, "Yes, I do. We...we got into an argument." She started to tear up, "I think I'm the reason she's gone, sir."
Anastasia's stomach dropped. Anastasia knew her mother would blame herself. She wanted to hug her, but she couldn't, and that killed her. Anastasia started to tear up as she watched her mother dap her eyes with a tissue the officer gave her.
"Ms. Meddows do not blame yourself. I will send officers out tonight as well as myself to find your daughter. How about you go home and wait for her in case she shows up." He spoke softly to Faith.
All she did was nod and they were back home. As Anastasia looked around her house she felt sad. She hasn't seen it in so many years. Anastasia jumped slightly as her mother set down a glass and vodka. Her mother never drank.
Faith poured the alcoholic drink into the cup and downed it. All her stress and troubles started slowly going away. So she poured more. She drank the clear liquid till the bottle was empty. Not one drop of vodka was in the bottle. Anastasia stood in shock. Tears filled her green eyes as she watched her mother stumble down the hall to her daughter's room. Faith laid down on Anastasia's bed and slowly drifted off to sleep.
