Chapter 4: Personal Metaphors

If I was to be an animal, I would be a koala. Koalas are quite cute, if you ask me, but they're also quite chill. They're so lovable, and I wish I could actually have one as a pet, although I do not know if that would be legal. Any koala reminds me of myself, because they're so cuddly and cute. Of course, I'm not saying I'm cute or anything, but because I'm as gentle as one, I consider myself to be a koala.

If I was to be a musical instrument, I would have to be a trombone. Now, while I sound biased because I'm a trombonist, it really fits into who I am, and has fit the previous generation of my family. My Mother played the trombone throughout her high school years, a fellow Geneva alumni just like me. In a way, I think as if I followed in her footsteps and joined the middle school band all the way back in seventh grade to learn how to play the instrument that shaped her legacy. I caught on very fast, and I have that personal feeling that it was because I hold a piece of her talent in my hands, in my mind. I always thank her at the end of each performance for giving me the gift of sharing her legacy with me, and giving me the opportunity to share my talent that correlates with hers and building the same legacy that she had.

If I was a day of the week, I'd consider myself a Wednesday. It sounds weird, because most people either consider themselves a Friday or a Monday, but I think of myself as a Wednesday because I think of myself to be in between a Monday and a Friday. Wednesday is also called 'Hump Day', or the middle of a week. I'm always supportive of any day of the week, but I'm either energetic or I'm just flat-out tired, and Wednesday is a day of the week where it mixes both of these feelings together. That's why I personally consider myself to be a Wednesday.

If I was to become a food item, I would want to become a chicken tender. Now look, no one is going to complain of how chicken tastes great, how juicy and tender it is. For me, all I eat when it comes to meat is chicken. I literally only eat chicken. I find it mind-boggling that when I think of all the different kinds of meat we have available to us, all I eat is chicken. It's liked by so many people in the world, and it's just great overall. Its crispy breading with spices adds the great flavor, while the juicy and tenderness of the chicken itself only adds to the delight of the amount of flavor that adventures inside of your mouth, landing onto your taste buds. It's quite the flavorus adventure, if you ask me. I only see myself as a chicken tender though because of how much it is loved. I'm someone who gives out a lot of love, but everyone gives me so much love back, just like that juicy chicken tender.

If I was to be a color, and not a human, I would most definitely be yellow. Yellow mostly goes with the people who are happy nearly all the time, nearly everyday. Now, I am happy quite often and you may not see it, but there are times where perhaps I'm not that happy person you would expect to see and walk into your room or a building. I do tend to be happy for the most part though, it's just the weird fact that it doesn't always show like it should.

If I was a movie and not a human, I would think of myself as Shrek: The Musical. Back when I was very young, I had a VCR with the VCR tape of Shrek: The Musical. When the movie was over and the end credits were showing, I would take my small toy box and climb on top of it in order to reach my VCR. After I reached my VCR, I would rewind the entire movie, just to watch the entire thing again. If I'm thinking of a specific age, I want to say I was three or four years old at the time. I was a very smart toddler back then, climbing to a VCR just to repeat the movie over and over, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. When I think back on it, I find myself impressed that I was smart enough to do something like that.

If I was a car, I would be a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. I'm always one to allow others to ride with me wherever it is that I decide to adventure to. I like to share my travels with people because who knows, maybe they've been there too, or maybe they had a different experience than I did. I also like to hang out with friends and family of mine, so it would be nice to have one of those to drive friends and family around while having a great time.
