Atticus's POV

Regaining consciousness, I feel someone gently rubbing the tippy top of my back. Gasping, I rapidly flinch away from the unexpected touch.

My terrified gaze lands on a devastated looking Allesio.

"You slept through the whole flight. It's time to go home now." He gives me a gentle smile, calming me down a little.

I slowly nod and stand up out of my seat. I look around the plane and see Domenico is waiting by the open door that leads off the plane. The three of us walk out of the plane and I see another matte black car that looks similar to the one from earlier.

Domenico opens the door for me again and I climb in. Allesio gets in the driver's seat and Domenico is the one next to him again.

"Do you need help buckling again, sweetheart?" Domenico asks, looking back at me from the front seat.

I shake my head. "No thank you, I got this." I whisper, determined to conquer this dumb seatbelt.

He looks at me amused and nods his head.

I didn't see how he did it earlier so I'm completely clueless. I just don't want anyone to touch or get close to me.

I fiddle around with the buckle for a while before it finally clicks and a small, proud smile makes its way to my face.

I did it.

"Good job bambino!" Domenico and Allesio praise enthusiastically.

I look down at the floor shyly, embarrassed that I got praised for doing something so simple.

Allesio starts driving the car and I tense up again. I don't think I'll ever like car rides.

About ten minutes into the drive, Domenico clears his throat.

"I just want to warn you, our brothers are very excited about you coming home, and they might get a little loud." He says. "I'll tell them to stay calm, but I can't promise they will actually listen."

"Okay." I whisper. Well that definitely didn't help to ease my nerves. I'm already nervous enough about meeting the people that will probably hurt me.

I just stare out the window for the rest of the car ride, listening to the soft music playing on the radio, which calms me a but from the fast moving car.

After about thirty minutes we pull into the driveway of an absolutely huge mansion.

While I'm busy staring at the mansion, the car door to my seat opens and I jump back.

Allesio looks at me apologetically and says, "You ready to go in, or are you too busy staring?" He raises an eyebrow at me.

"Is this r-really your house?" I whisper in disbelief.

"It's your house, too, now."

Woah.

When we walk through the doors, I can't help but stare at everything, mesmerized. I've never seen anything like this before.
