Imperfect Love

the meeting after..

Preesha was fuming with anger, at the same time she had tears in her eyes. She couldn't believe that the man she loved once, the man she thought she will spend her life with changed so much, andleft her alone because of a person, or rather his opinion? She felt helpless.

She felt suffocated in her own house, there was no one. Her parents had gone out of delhi to some relatives' place. She thought she'll take a walk at her favourite place. It was a park nearby. She was a nature lover, loved greenery and felt peace in the open. That garden was her go-to place since her childhood. She came out of her house, locked it and went downstairs. As soon as she reached there, she got a notification. It was a message from her appa, asking whether everything is ok. She replied with a simple 'yes' and kept walking until she found a quiet place under a tree. What more could an introvert like her ask for? She closed ger eyes and rested her back on the trunk of the tree, thinking about all that happened in her life. How Rudra came and everything changed. She felt really bad! A lump formed in her throat remembering Dev's words, and she tried to hold her tears back.

Rudra tried to get all thoughts out of his mind and sleep but he couldn't. Preesha's face, all the moments they spent together were flashing in his mind. He got up, took his car keys and headed towards the park preesha was in. He remembered Preesha told him that it was her favourite place and how anyone felt peace and comfort there. He did not know that Preesha was there too. He took his keys and stormed towards the door, hoping to not see his dad. And, he was lucky! Dad wasn't there so he told Sharda he'll be back in an hour or two and hugged her.

After some time, Rudra reached the park too. He went in there, looking for Preesha's favourite spot there. Suddenly, his eyes saw her. It was noone but Preesha. His eyes widened, YES it was her!

He walked towards her and gently put his hand on her shoulder. She was shocked by the hand, and immediately looked up. It was him! It was Rudra! She stood up and cleaned herself and started walking out of there. She wasn't prepared to face him!

He held her hand and asked her to stop. She turned back just to give him a glare, asking him to leave her hand. He looked at her with pleading eyes, asking her to stop and talk. After these few minutes of eye communication, Rudra finally spoke.

Rudra: Preesha! Please listen to me. I know you're angry, and disgusted at the kind of person I turned out to be. Trust me, I always wanted us to be friends. I really liked you. I tried to control myself, but couldn't do! It was becoming frustrating for me. I never expected you to have feelings for me. I just didn't want to hide anything, just wanted you to know so that we have no secrets between us. I didn't realise how cheap I acted, proposing you even though you had a boyfriend. SORRY preesha. Trust me this is not fake, I need you to know everything, clear everything and have no misunderstandings. After that, you're free to decide whether to forgive me or distance yourself from me. It's upon you! Preesha, I....

Preesha hugged him tight. She hid her face inside his arms and started crying. Her face buried on his chest and sobbing, she tried to speak.

Preesha: Rudra! He left me. He left me because I defended you. Because, he overheard when I tried to clear things, I was speaking to myself....he..overheard that...and he said he's leaving. Rudra, I don't know how to react, what to react. So.much had happened in my life. I don't know if I love you or not. But, I care for you, I can't stand people speaking sh*t against you. I want to defend you from those media portals, from everyone, from Dev. Rudra, I... don't know what is going on. Please take me with you, save me!

All this time she had buried her face in his chest, making his hoodie wet. Her eyes were puffed and she needed air. But, she couldn't gather the courage to look at him.

Rudra: Preesha, would you mind if we go somewhere else? Like at your house?

Preesha nodded. They went at Preesha's house. He took her to her room and made her sit on the couch, brought her a glass of water and asked her to calm down.

Rudra: Calm down, Preesha! It's ok if you have no feelings for me. Your choice matters the most to me. I just wanted you to know that I meant what I said, but not in the way you took it. Sorry Preesha...and about Dev, it's your personal matter, I won't interfere. If he left you, leave him. You're going to find a thousand times better person, someone who you deserve, someone who deserves you!

Preesha hugged Rudra again.

Preesha: Thank you, Rudra. Thank you for being there. And, you dare not talk about leaving me. I need you, I..I just need you in my life.

He hugged her back and she kept hugging him. After some time, she came back to reality and they parted. They both had a smile to their faces.
