Part 1

Alex pov

I was working on some homework in my bedroom when there was a knock on my door.

Alex - "Enter"

The door slowly opened and my dad came in.

Matteo - "Hey son"

Alex - "Hello father"

Matteo - "Evening meal is ready"

Alex - "Okay thank you, father. I just have to finish an assignment for a project. I will be down for supper in five minutes"

He nodded and walked out. I finished the assignment as quickly as I could and went downstairs. Lila and my parents were already seated at the table. I sat down next to Lila, across from my parents.

Elizabeth (Alex's mom) - "Alexander, honey, we have something to talk about tonight"

Alex - "Is everything okay, mother?"

Matteo - "We're not quite sure how to tell you this"

Alex - "Tell me what? You're worrying me"

Elizabeth - "We have set up a meeting with a princess. Specifically, a princess who could possibly be your future wife"

I was speechless. I didn't know what to say.

Elizabeth - "Honey, please talk to us. Say something"

Alex - (sighs) "I don't want to get married to someone I don't know, but if this is what is best for Stockwhite, I will meet with them"

Matteo -"Thank you for keeping an open mind, son. The meeting will be in a few days"

I gave him a half-hearted smile.

Elizabeth - "So, how are your studies going?"

Lila - "They are going well, but the work is overwhelming sometimes"

Alex - "Lila, if you ever need help or someone to talk to, you know you can come to me"

Lila - (smiles) "Thank you, Alex. You are the best big brother ever"

Alex - (smiles back) "I try my best"

We all continued dinner and talked together. My dad had been a little busy with his kingly duties lately that we haven't gotten much time to spend with him. Even if we're not that close, he's still my father. Once we finished dinner, I went back to my bedroom. I took a shower, finished my homework and went to bed. I had school the next day and I was honestly pretty tired from everything. Don't get me wrong, I love the life I him. Although sometimes, I wish I could just take a moment to breathe.

Izzy pov

I was at the table eating with my mom, dad and Rachel.

David - "Isabella, dear, we have something to discuss with you"

Izzy - "Okay, father"

Caroline - "Honey, tomorrow there is a meeting with the royal family of Stockwhite"

Izzy - "Okay...?"

David - "You will be introduced to the prince and if he agrees, the two of you will be getting married by the end of the year"

Izzy - "What?!"

David - "Honey, we know that you are such an amazing young woman, and we also know that you are fully capable of ruling Heathfield on your own"

Caroline - "However, this could be very beneficial for Heathfield"

Izzy - (sighs) "Fine. I'll meet with him"

David - "Thank you, sweetheart"

Rachel - "Will I get married to a prince too?"

Caroline - "Oh honey. One day, maybe you will. Right now, we are focused on Isabelle since she will be becoming queen shortly"

Rachel - "Okay, mother"

David - "Isabelle, the meeting will be in a few days"

Izzy - "Oh. That soon?"

Caroline - "They did not want to wait much longer. You don't have to marry him if you really don't want to. Please, just meet him at least once"

Izzy - "I'll meet him. I promise"

Caroline - "Thank you, Elizabeth"

We finished our dinner and talked for a little while longer. I went back upstairs, took a shower and read a book. I had already finished all of my homework for the day and almost finished the project that was due in a month. I looked at the time and it was 10:42. I decided to go to bed since I also had school the next day. Being royalty is pretty hard.
