In the next few weeks in Sunagakure, Tsukiko allowed herself to get used to her new home and her life now that she was married to Gaara. Due to their standing in society, being the Kazekage and his wife, it was hard for them to even think about going to a honeymoon, much less plan one. For some reason, Gaara knew what that vacation was, and brought it up to her –
Following a long day as usual at work, Gaara had found himself sitting on the soft rug that his wife had made for him prior to their wedding. His back was leaning against the bed and soft fingers belonging to Tsukiko were gently massaging his scalp with oil.
This had become a nightly occurrence for the pair of them whenever they finished with their work and had dinner with each other as well as Temari and Kankuro. Gaara always enjoyed it, especially since it allowed him to relax. And Tsukiko loved doing so and combing his hair.
"Tsukiko," Gaara spoke up as he leaned his head back so he could look up at his wife, sitting with her legs crossed on the bed. She poked at his nose, smiling.
"Yes?" Tsukiko asked, her fingers returning to his long auburn red hair that she loved and running through them lightly. "What's on your mind?"
"I was wondering," Gaara said. "If you're okay with the fact that we never got to go on that holiday... you know... the one that they call a 'honeymoon'?"
"Honeymoon?" Tsukiko repeated, taken aback. "Well... I think that it's alright that we never got to on that holiday – we're both busy with work, aren't we?"
"Are you sure?" Gaara asked Tsukiko nodded, smiling at him as she looked down at him.
"Of course," Tsukiko assured him. "Besides, it's an occasion to travel with your spouse, is it not? You and I get to travel and visit other countries often anyhow... even if only for work. I get to see all sorts of places with you, and that's enough for me, you know?"
Gaara seemed alright with this answer, and Tsukiko bent over to give him a kiss with smiling lips, "Now, come on, let me continue with your hair so we can go to bed together,"
It was true that even Tsukiko had found herself a great deal of work in Sunagakure – she was now fully immersed in working for the Suna's branch of Children's Therapy Centre as well picking up an active position as a teacher in the Suna Ninja Academy, specialising in Medical Care. Not to mention, a lot of her time was spent in and around the Suna Hospital.
People of Sunagakure were slowly getting used to the person who had joined their village. Initially, all the children all called her the Kazekage's Wife, and the elderly dubbed her Honourable Wife, but Tsukiko found them all, one by one, opening up to using her name instead.
Ever since the war, the word 'Lady' was constantly attached to Tsukiko's name, which she wasn't very keen on but she appreciated it enough if people of Suna called her Tsukiko-Sama – as long as her name was used, she felt like they would get used to her.
"Although I would've liked you to take it easy right after your marriage," Temari said as she met up with Tsukiko in her office. "I think being busy like this would help you out with opening up, too,"
"Usa, you're right," Tsukiko agreed, shrugging off her doctor's coat to set it on her chair so she and Temari could have a relaxed conversation. "I'm recognising even more people by name now,"
"That's exactly what I wanted for you," Temari replied. "Sunagakure's very different from your home village, I was worried that you would feel lonely without your friends,"
"I understand..." Tsukiko trailed off. She looked up. "I do miss them all but as long as I have Gaara, and Temari Nee-San and Kankuro Nii-San... I think I will be alright,"
