"Kya hua ab kandhe pe haath nahi rakhna? " Karan asked while walking towards Bala.
The truth of him being Karan was out in open. Param was though arrested and Karan was depressed the whole time so to distract his mind, he thought to tease Bala.
"Na.. Nahii sir ji.. Woh mai.. " The young boy stuttered in front of the older commando who towered over him with a smirk.
"Atak atak ke kyu bol raha hai? Bala shaitan ka sala hai na tu? " The boy got flustered at Karan's comment but more than anything, he was happy to see Karan back even when he was khadoos.
"Ab nahi lagega gale mere? Hmm? " Karan added more.
"Sorry sir ji! " Bala uttered looking down and in that moment Karan felt a strange need to protect the young boy from the cruelty of world.
"Tu bhale hi Sidhharth ko apna bhai maanta hai par mere liye to tu hamesha mera chhota bhai rahega. Mujhe pata hai, Tu Sidhharth se attatched kyu hai but mai bhi itna bura nahi hu. " Karan said rather softly to which Bala looked at him. Each time he saw Bala with Siddharth, he got irked not because Bala would become a rich brat with Siddharth but because Karan wanted that place in the young boy's heart which Siddharth easily gained.
Maybe I am getting punished for idolising Param Shergill for so many years.
Karan thought sadly before Bala's words broke his thought.
"Sid bhai ji ki jagah toh koi nahi le sakta par maine jabse aapko woh organ trafficking case mei fight karte dekha tha, mujhe bhi aapki tarah banne ka man kiya. Isiliye toh aap jab yaha nahi the tab bhi mai yahi tha, apni training puri kar raha tha. Aap bohot acche hai Sirji. Aur aapke bhaiya ne jo aapke saath kiya usmei aapki koi galti nahi thi! " Bala told him what he wanted to say ever since he witnessed the incident of Param yelling that he wanted to kill Karan.
"Aapne woh picture nahi dekhi, jisme ek bhai apne hi bhai ke khoon ka pyaasa hota hai aur end mei khud hi mar jaata hai? " Bala added to lighten the mood as the topic was touchy.
"Kitni movies dekhta hai tu? Thoda pad bhi liya kar, kab tak tooti footi english bolke apna mazaak banwaayega? " Karan asked back.
"Aap sikhado! " Bala said quite honestly.
"Huh? " Karan got surprised at this as he thought no one wanted to be near him as he was too strict and brutal.
"Jab aapne mujhe apna wallet chori karte waqt pakda tha, tab aap chaahte toh mujhe academy se nikaal sakte the aur police ke hawaale karsakte the par aapne aisa kucch nahi kiya.. " Bala confessed
"Tu kya chaahta hai? Mai tujhe police ke hawaale kardu? " Karan concluded in confusion.
"Ahn!Mere bade bhai ban jao! " Bala said
"Tere paas toh already Siddharth hai na, tujhe meri kya zarurat? " Karan asked still in confusion.
"Woh toh hai lekin agar aap bhi honge toh aur accha rahega, bas aapko ek promise karna hoga! " Bala told him.
"Kya? " Karan couldn't help but ask immediately.
"Yahi ki aap har musibat se mujhe bachaaoge jaise aapne mujhe jail jaane se bachaaya tha aur academy mei training karne ka mauka diya tha! Pehle mujhe yeh saza lagti thi lekin ab yeh acchi lagti hai. " Bala said to which Karan smiled.
"Okay! " Karan answered.
"Aajaoo fir sirji... " Bala opened his arms to hug him but Karan looked at him with stern eyes.
