                               Primrose's POV
"Do you want your meds anyway?"

"I don't know actually. Have you talked to Christopher again?"

"Yeah. He wants to know if, he could stop by and, check on you."

"You told him, he can, didn't you?"

"I-I know I shouldn't have. I-I just thought I'd be a nice surprise but...I didn't think you'd react well. Are you mad?"

"Why would I be mad at you? You've got a good heart. You have good intentions. I'd never get mad at you for that. I feel bad I promised her a vacation. I was too excited...I thought it'd be a good thing for her to look forward to. I feel like I lied."

"But you didn't. You didn't know."

I kissed him.

"We'll get there one day. I know you. You'll make it work."

"You think so?"

"Yeah."

"I-I promised you, I'd take care of you girls. I-I don't feel like I am."

"Nyxy...it's okay. You're taking care of us. I know it's probably not how, you would like but, trust me. You are. Keep in mind, we are 18. We're still young."

I kissed him again.

"It's okay. You said you're going back to school right?"

"Yeah."

"Let's start there."

"I-I want to be able to help you."

"Then..you can do online school. Onyx listen. Don't stress over shit that's not necessary right now. Let's take it, one day at a time. Right now, let's focus on you and Marionette recovering."

"What about my complicated family?"

"Do not put too much thought into it. Take a few deep breaths. Christopher isn't here yet. You don't have to come downstairs right away. I'll cover for you. I can tell him that you haven't woken up yet or, you're in a lot of pain and need to rest for a few, I could say that Marionette had a rough night and, you wanted to let her sleep some more. Or...or you can tell me a lie, you want me to say."

"I-I don't like lying though."

"Okay..I'll give you, your pain meds. That way, you'll be tired and it won't be a lie."

"Were you, thinking about this already?"

I kissed him again.

"Possibly. Sooo...do you want your meds, yes or no?"

"I'm actually in pain. Can I have them?"

"Yep."

I went and grabbed a drink and his meds. I have them to him. He took his medication. He looked down at Marionette.

"I wish, I kept her home. She wouldn't be in pain."

I ran my fingers through his hair.

"You can't do that to yourself. You didn't know that it was going to happen."

He started crying.

"Baby..."

"I feel like I-I failed her. I-I'm supposed to protect her. I-I almost lost her twice now."

"Nyxy it's not your fault. Nobody knew this was going to happen."

I started talking to him more. After a while, he yawned.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

I kissed his forehead.
Onyx's POV
I woke up when, I heard voices. I looked down. Marionette was still snuggling with me.

"Princess? You awake?"

"Yes. I didn't want to wake you up. I heard you talking to mommy. I didn't mean to. Am I in trouble?"

"No sweetie. You're not. That wasn't really a private conversation."

"I don't like seeing you sad. It makes me sad."

"I'm the same way with you. I think that's why, I'm worried about getting to know my real dad. I don't want you, to be sad."

She kissed my cheek.

"I don't want to go downstairs daddy. I wanna snuggle more."

I chuckled.

"Alright princess. We can snuggle for a few more minutes then, I guess we have to go see everyone."

"Yay! Does your hand hurt?"

"A bit. Do you want your medicine?"

"No! Please no!"

"Shhh. I was just asking. If you don't think you need it then, you don't have to take it."

"I have something to tell you."

"You do? What is it?"

"I'm glad Amy's not around."

"R-really?"

"Mhm! Primy is much better!"

"Y-you have no idea how happy, that just made me."

I kissed the top of her head. She looked up at me and smiled.

"She's the best!"

I smiled.

"I'm glad you think that too. You should tell her. I'm sure, that'd make her really happy."

"I think so too. Can I go tell her later?"

"Of course."

She put her head back down. She grabbed my right hand and, started holding it. She put it, underneath her head.
