Onyx's POV
After a while, River's family showed up. I left them alone and went back to talking to my sister.

"He's worried about getting kicked out."

"O-oh no...do you think...she'll actually do it?"

I shrugged.

"Wish I knew."

"Mom wasn't happy about MJ was she?"

"Not sure. All I know is, I didn't get kicked out."

River ran into the room. He had tears on his face.

"What's wrong?"

"S-she kicked me out. I told her...I wanted to go home and she said...said my fault that.....he showed up. She said her and Kris aren't safe now. It's all my fault."

I walked out of the room.

"No! D-don't say anything!"

I found Dakota.

"Why'd the hell did you kick him out?"

"Until Wyatt is caught, it's not safe for him to be around us."

"So you just...kick your only son out? H-he's been gone for weeks."

She crossed her arms.

"I'm sending him to California. He'll stay with my sister."

"N-no. H-he's gonna live with me."

"I've signed his discharge papers. He leaves, at the end of the week."

"Dakota he'll stay with me."

"You have enough people in your house."

"It's fine."

She rolled her eyes.

"Fine."

Why is she being so cold?

"Is your fiancée at your house?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I'll pack some things. I assume, you have spare beds?"

"Yeah."

"Okay."

"Mom what are you doing?!"

"Kristal it's not safe for us while, your brother's around."

"Dakota t-this is a bit extreme. Y-you seriously can't be doing this. H-he's your son."

"I'm sure, you'd do the same thing."

"Hell no! I'd never kick my kids out! He needs you! He only has you! This isn't fair! H-he's still a kid too!"

"Alexia moved in with you for a similar reason."

"What difference does that mean?"

"D-Dakota come on!"

"Stop! You want him to move in with you? Fine! He's YOUR responsibility now!"

Dakota stormed off. I went back into the hospital room.

"I-I'm so sorry. I-I tried."

River sniffled.

"Thanks."

When the three of us went to back to my house, River didn't speak for the rest of the day.

"Lex? Come here."

I pulled my sister off to the side.

"Sleep with your door open. Make sure, he doesn't lock any doors."
