It's dark.
Death isn't what you'd thought it would be. It's lonely.
You keep walking but where to? There's nowhere to go, where is your final destination?
You know, this is usually when other demons find out who they really are — correction, who they used to be.
The person whose life was so utterly depressing that they chose to murder people instead of facing death. That's who you wish you were right now.
The guilt wouldn't be as bad.
You wonder as you walk into this empty realm, could life be any worse?
"I could be Douma or Akaza." You snorted. You knew from the beginning there was no chance Muzan would be winning.
Those poor, poor boys. The shitty human lives that brought them into this mess, that brought them to you.
And even in the bleakness of wherever the fuck you are right now, you couldn't help but hope that they were thinking about you. Fuck being guilty now, guilt was secondary to the deep longing you felt for them.
Did either of them love you the way you loved them? Is it kind of fucked up you love both in the 'let's get married and have babies' type of way?
Damn. Is time this fucking slow?
Think. Think. Think.
Douma. Akaza. Douma. Akaza. Douma. Akaza.
You repeated their names like a mantra, a desperate attempt to hold onto the only normal you have left.
Suddenly, you spawned into a battle zone. No, it's the infinity castle!
You quickly spotted him.
Akaza.
Relief washed over you, but quickly turned to dread as you realized something was terribly wrong—Akaza's body was there, but no head.
"There's no way you've let them win." You mutter as if you didn't expect this ending.
Akaza hasn't withered away yet, he's still fighting. You can't wait though, why is he still fighting?
You run to him only to be blocked.
You look over to see the demon slayers, who are oblivious to your presence. The Kamado boy is knocked out and the taller one seems to be weakened.
You hear someone. A woman's voice, tender and pleading, called out to Akaza.
"Hakuji!" She yelled as she tugged on his arm. Jealousy bubbled up inside you; she was the one blocking your path to him.
Fuck, she is gorgeous. Her pupils were shaped like snowflakes, her skin was glowing. Even though she was crying, her tears only made her more beautiful.
"Hakuji that is enough." She pleaded with Akaza while tugging on his arm.
"Let go." He replies coldly. "I have to kill them, no matter what. I have to become stronger. So I can get it back." Though he seemed momentarily confused.
He came back to his senses and began to regenerate.
The Kamado boy seems to have woken up from whatever attack Akaza threw at him. Surprisingly, he lunged toward his partner instead of Akaza, in an act of protection.
Akaza didn't seem to care, leaping into the air with a determined smile.
"Oh, they're done for now." You snicker, completely blinded from the inevitable.
But then, Akaza imploded.
Your mouth dropped open in shock. The girl reappeared, cradling Akaza's human form. Before you could process what happened, you were flung back into the darkness.
As you tried to bring yourself up, you stopped. Your hands began shaking, and your knees wobbled. Your eyes felt wet, you felt the heartbreak gnawing at you. Your love for both Akaza and Douma seemed trivial now.
Watching Akaza's love for whoever the hell that was overpowering what you had made you feel empty. No matter how loud you were, nothing was going to interrupt you from crying. Now you just hoped they wouldn't show the girl that was going to stop Douma in battle.
If Akaza's girlfriend was that pretty, fuck, Douma's would be stunning.
And you, the idiot who fell for both. The demon that thought she'd get a second chance by what? Falling in love with other demons? Like that was going to last.
That guilty feeling was back again, your revenge was for nothing. You ruined a family for nothing. Because even at your lowest you're just as lonely and pathetic as you were at your highest. But to be fair, when the fuck did you ever reach a high?
As you wiped your tears, you heard someone crying. Oh great! Another heartbroken demon? Maybe she got fucked just as good as you!
But no, as feminine as these cries sounded, it was definitely a man crying.
Your eyes widened, could it be?
He began screaming something, you walked towards his voice.
You could make out what sounded to be —
"Y/n! Where are you? Y/n!" Douma yelled.
Douma. You ran toward his voice, finding him in a puddle of tears.
Without hesitation, you jumped on him, wailing, "You fucking idiot I thought I lost you!"
He held you tightly, burying his face in your chest, "You'd never lose me. Not even in death. I thought I'd never see you again. I thought you chose him."
"Pfft, not like I thought both of you had hotter girlfriends you'd end up leaving me for once you died." You chuckled, no seriously, that hurt.
"What?" He smiled nervously.
Before you could reply, a ring of fire encircled you both.
You looked at the fire, trying to see if there was any way you could avoid it. But the emptiness from before seemed to be... gone? How the hell does emptiness leave?
Is this it? Has death truly revealed itself right as you found your way back to the one person who truly loved you?
"Douma..." You said in a worried tone.
You heard Douma laugh, "It really is our time now." He laughed, looking at you with a creepy, yet loving gaze, "We'll have each other at least. I'll never let anyone hurt you ever again Y/n. Will you join me in hell my love?"
"Yes."
