Y/n= Your Name

Warning: Mentions of illness & death

"You have cancer." It was ringing to your head. You didn't know what to say, you didn't know to feel, or what to think. "The good news is you're in the early stage of cancer and with treatment, there is a good chance you will overcome it." You feel Tom, your boyfriend for three years, tighten his grip from your hand he was holding. "But she's going to be ok, right, doc?" The doctor nodded and gave a hopeful smile. "Of course, with proper care from you. She will do fine, I have hope." You formed a small smile and said; "Yeah, hope."

Six months has passed, and you have lost some hair, but you're not completely bald. Though, it was making you insecure. Tom went with you to get wigs, he hasn't left you side since the beginning. He told the other guys about your condition and they all visited you and brought you some flowers and stuffed animals, wishing you for a speedy recovery. Tom cancelled up- coming tours and took a hiatus from the music world to help you in any way he could.

You two were sitting in the front porch, enjoying a cooled afternoon. You took a deep breath and look up to the sky. "The weather sure is nice, I'm surprised it's not hot today. After all, we do live in California, and California is known for its increasing temperature." Tom chuckle and wrapped an arm around your shoulders. "Yeah, it's nice." You two sat in silence, embracing each other. "If I don't make it, remember to cremated me-" "Stop, don't say that." He interrupted. "You're going to make it."

You remove his embrace and lean forward and look down at your feet. "Tom, this is cancer we're talking about. We have to be real here." He shook his head. "Yeah, and there's some people who overcome it." You sigh. "I know, but there's a fifty, fifty percent chances that I might live or die. That's why I'm telling you this." Tom made you look at him and he was in tears. "No, you're not going to die, Y/n. With the treatments and proper care from me and the doctors, you will live. Cause I'm not going to give on you, on us." He sniffed.

"You have no idea what you mean to me, Y/n. I care about you so much, I love you too much. You turn my world around, a- and you bring me happiness. Light to my world, a purpose in life. And I'm not going to let anyone or anything to take you away from me, especially not cancer. You will overcome this. Because I am willing to do everything and anything for you to be cancer-free. You hear me, don't you give up on me. Just like I don't give up on you."

You couldn't bear holding the tears and you let it all out. He pulls you for an embrace and massages your back. "It's ok, honey. Let it all out, I'm here, baby." "I'm just so scared, Tom." You cried. "I- I'm so young, and I don't wanna die." He kisses your hair and says; "You're not going to die, stop saying that. I told you, you're going to overcome this. We're going to overcome this." A year later has passed and the doctor gave you the greatest news that you've been waiting for.

"You're cancer-free." You jump in excitement and Tom spin you around as both of you cheer. "You did it, babe. You beat it!" He cheered. You pulled him for a tender kiss and shed a tear. "I couldn't have done it without you, Tom. Oh, I love you." He kisses you again and says; "And I love you too."
