And here she was, running around a party with a blurred vision looking for an upset brunette girl, preparing a monologue on how to explain a weird-looking situation. Although, she wished Camila had just stayed a moment to listen and understand what had gone on. Stacy was simply a friend from what Lauren could see but clearly from Camila's perspective, it wasn't. As Camila sat on the side of the pavement, on the corner of a street that she no idea of, she held her head in the palm of hands as she prevented her tears from exiting her tear ducts. Perhaps the tighter she squeezed her eyes shut, the likelihood of her crying would decrease. She was wrong when a tear fell down the side of each of cheeks. A part of her knew she was overreacting but the alcohol fuelling her system thought otherwise. Her confidence wasn't the greatest but being with Lauren helped her so much. The only downfall was when she felt like Lauren didn't like her, her self-worth dropped quicker than she could begin to catch to it. Now, in this situation, where she thought Lauren was interested in someone else, it almost crushed her. Stacy had similar looks to Camila, they both had long, dark hair but Stacy's hair was straighter. They both had gorgeous eyes but Stacy's were a light blue and Camila's were a caramel brown. Stacy was the type of pretty that they wrote about in books but Camila felt average or boring- a face forgotten before you even looked away. Her feelings for Lauren were so controlling, she had this grip around her heart and, even though she made her feel high, the comedown was unbearable. Even worse, the thought of losing her was scarier. How was this going to work? Her mind worried, spiralling with each thought flying in and out her head, how was this going to work? Kissing behind closed doors? Sneaking around forever? Keeping one eye out for someone catching them? A secret life? A friendly friendship to the world but the most deepest love for them? A ring-less finger? A future of unknown? This was all Camila could think, how was this going to end?
"Camz?" She heard that husky voice call out which she always recognised. Camila refused to say anything, apart from she turned her face away, hiding it between her knees in attempts to ignore what she was having to face. "Speak to me?"
"I don't know what to say," Camila croaky voice spoke out quietly, followed by a sniffle.
She placed herself next to the upset brunette and pulled her arms away from her sheltered face, "look at me, Camz, please."
Eventually, she gave in and when Lauren saw the tears down her face, the guilt sank in. Gently, she used the end of sleeve and wiped away any tears she could see. Once she was cleaned up, Lauren just placed her arm around Camila and she rested her head tiredly on Lauren's shoulder. No words exchanged, just comfort. Camila knew she had overreacted but she had realised that there was more to her feelings. When drunken voices could be heard in the distance, Camila was the first to jump away from Lauren whilst she made no attempt to take her arm away. This warrant a strange look from Lauren at Camila whilst a group of friends walked passed the pair of them sat on pavement with their hands to themselves.
Once the group had disappeared down the street and Camila looked visibly comfortable again, Lauren began, "you know, I don't like her or anything, she's just a friend." She nodded as a response but that wasn't good enough for the green-eyed girl. She stared at the side of her face that was resting on her knees. "Camz, please speak to me."
"Sorry," she mumbled, keeping her head tilted down, "I didn't mean to get upset."
"It's okay, I just want you to know that I would never," the green-eyed girl replied with a serious tone, her whole body turning towards Camila who stayed still.
"Never what?" She questioned, slightly perking her head up.
"I would never choose her over you," Lauren spoke, her voice filled with infatuation and her pupils turning into hearts as she stared at Camila, "I wouldn't choose anyone over you."
