For some odd reason, I can't get Alex out of my mind. It's absolutely ridiculous she isn't supposed to be on my mind twenty-four-seven. Lately, she has placed a huge distance between us, but my family fell over hills for her. Cora and Alex are basically best friends now and Devina and Taytum are warming up to her.
Now I can stay away, but my mind always goes to her. I haven't bothered her since, but she has her own thing going on. I don't know when I am going to tell her the truth about everything, but I know if I don't tell her soon then that will start another argument and that would lead to permanent no talking.
I walked up the stairs completely exhausted from work today, but I have to finish some more things. As I walked in my quarter of the house I walked past Alex's bedroom and the lights were off, so she was asleep now. That gives me another good reason to leave her alone right now because if she was awake I would be tempted to knock on her door. I headed to my office and closed the door behind me.
I went to the bar in my office and poured myself a drink and sat down at my desk. I put the password into my laptop and went through the security footage and some other things that were sent to me. I had some things sent to Luciano so he could help me out. I don't admit that I need some help I just tell people to send certain things to him and not me.
After a while of being in my office, it was almost three in the morning and I had to be up by seven. I walked back to my room and looked at Alex's door right before I went into my bedroom.
...
I indeed in fact wake up a slight bit earlier than I wanted, but sleep is the last of my worries. I got dressed and headed down to the main base. The base was about a thirty-minute drive from the Gambion estate. Also, I have been looking at penthouses for myself. I don't feel like living in the estate anymore and I do need my own space now.
Once I arrived at the base everyone who was supposed to be working today, which is everyone, was there except for the people in my household. If I could fire them I would, but they are family so I am forced to have them work for me. I walked by everyone and nodded when they said good morning. I headed straight for my office and closed the door behind me. For the first few hours, I was in my office and only a few people came and bothered me, but when I showed them I was interested in what they had right now they turned around and left.
After staying at the base for three more hours it was one in the afternoon. No one came in from the house, so I have no idea what the hell they got going on today or they simply didn't want me to be a part of something which isn't my problem and I don't mind.
I drove back to the house and everyone was in the kitchen talking with a smile plastered on their faces and laughing, but Alex wasn't with them. I did realize when my mother made eye contact with me her smile was wiped off her lips. Everyone turned around and looked at me. The house was silent.
