The bright neon lights of the Canadian club made everything seem in a strange perspective. This would be one of the last nights Lianna would stay here for quite some time. But staying with her best friend Jacky would make it all better until she caught a break from work and schooling for her PhD once again to go and have a vacation to go up to see the Lawyer.

"Hey Lia, did you see this?"

"See what?" The girl looks at the other's phone screen, seeing that someone she knew all too well was looking back at her with a still face. "Why are you showing me a photo of Tobias?"

"Because he's here in Toronto for the break, I think it's to be with his friends or something."

"Why are you even still following him?" The psych major had too many questions for the slightly tipsy girl to answer so she just gave her a confused smile.

"Because, I don't hate him for what he did." She hums, looking over to the side where she sees a glimpse of curly hair that looked like it belonged to the person she was just shown in photo form not too long ago.

"That's understandable I suppose."

"Now come on, have a drink, stop worrying about that boy for a bit." The two sit back against the couches they were originally on when they spotted it open, there was still a couch open to their right which Lianna prayed that the boys wouldn't sit there.

But her wishes against the universe didn't favor her currently and Colton sat practically right next to her, unaware that he was so close to her or even knew who she was.

God get me out of here, what is Colt even doing in a club like this? Shouldn't he be home with Nella?

Jacky saw that the college student was in some sort of thinking so her great idea was to turn to the boys.

"Colton is that you?" The boys turn, making Lianna feel even smaller.

Fuck.

"Jacky? Lia? What are you two doing in Toronto?"

"Just trying to ignore studies." The sober girl's tone was slightly cold, making Colton already know that she meant that towards the boy he's with at the moment. He looks over at Tobias who was already looking back at him expectantly, his glance already telling him a mixture of "What's she doing here?" and "Can we get out of here?"

Though the boy turns back to the girl who crossed her arms, trying to shield how much of a bust she was showing. "That seems like a thing you would do, what are you studying again?"

"Psychology."

"Ah so you still want to be a therapist?"

"Something like that, with Jacky here I've also been diving a little bit into law." The girl started to break from her coldness at seeing such a friendly face. A smile soon appears and they're back to talking like old times.

Tobias and Jacky on the other hand stay quiet and try to seem invisible why the two chatty cathaies go and talk on for hours and hours until something interesting happens.

"So did you see that Tobias is transferring over to your university?"

"For the fall semester?"

"Yep, well, I'm gonna be there too so you'll at least have some friends there with you." That makes Lianna chuckle considering that she'll probably have to visit their dorm room often if something stupid happens between the two chuckle-heads.

"Aren't you done with college though?"

"Well I was thinking about going back for my master's degree, it's been a few years."

"Well yeah, what were you even studying?" The boy pauses for a second, trying to even remember himself what he had been studying at least four years ago.

"I think it was something in law."

"It probably was something English wise." Tobais takes a sip of his drink that he had gotten a few minutes ago, some mystery drink that Lianna couldn't put her finger on even if she saw her dad take Mixology. Colton shrugs, having that crooked smile that would make anyone chuckle.

"I think it was that, I forgot to say congrats on your book coming out when that happens."

"Yeah, I think it's a few years too late." The girl chuckles, grinning at remembering some form of conversation years ago between them talking about romantic writing or something on that topic.

"Have you written anything else?"

"Yeah but it's still like five years in production and editing, it's another part of the "trauma series" I joked about the last time you asked me that."

"Which was like two years ago."

"Yep, if you wanna be a beta reader I can send you the doc of what it has so far." A sparkle ignites in the English major's eyes, his hands clenched into fists, bringing them up to look like an anime girl. "You look like an anime girl Colt."

Laughter erupts from the four, mostly from the wheezes of Tobias and Colton, Jacky mostly chuckled while Lianna herself snickered. "Man, I forgot how funny you are."

"That's an insult to women alike."

"Man-"

"I'm joking." The four of them continued to talk for what seemed to be hours, or at least a few hours till the club closed. Drinks, jokes, past stories, and a kiss was shared around on that couch in the club in Toronto, and that was the only time Tobias and Lianna saw each other that summer before the fall semester started.
