After that day... Things went downhill.

Henrik had been too busy to hang out with Anti... Not that Anti was upset about it, of course he wasn't. Not upset. Not jealous that the hospital and Septics were taking all of his attention. No siree.

Luckily, for Anti's sanity and Henrik's growing paranoia, they got to have a ten-minute call each night.

This had been going on for five days, and at first, Anti didn't think too much on it... But... Henrik seemed... To get more troubled by the night. It made Anti... Nervous.

"Heya, pop-star, what's up?"

Henrik smiled softly. The bags under his eyes said it all. The hospital must really be wearing him thin... Or... Is it something else?

"Nothing new on my side. Vell... Zhat's a lie. I've been trying to make zhe others see you're not so bad, and I zhink I'm making progress!"

Anti wasn't expecting that. It was... Pleasantly surprising? But even so...

"Hen... We've been over this... I hurt people! Remember? Why do you think I'm on the streets in the first place..? I don't deserve-"

"Anti."

"No! You're too damn forgiving! I've done nothing but hurt you... And you show me kindness! I enjoy your company, but that's the problem! I deserve to suffer! I deserve to FUCKING DIE HENRIK! I-"

"I'm disappointed in you."

"..."

"..."

"What..?"

Henrik just sighed on his end, muttering to himself, "not enough time... Never enough time."

"..."

"Nothing I've ever done for you is undeserved. Zhe only zhing you did not deserve vas to be kicked out."

"I don't... Understand, Henrik... I just... I caused you pain... And your family... It's one thing to be forgiven by the Ipliers... But you're my actual family. The ones I hurt."

"You don't understand, I get it. And I can't tell you. You vill figure it out on your own. But just know it vasn't your fault."

"..."

"Anti?"

"I'm tired..."

"I know."

"..."

"I love you, child."

"..."

"Good night."

"...'Night."

Beep

The stars... They're glittering so happily up there... Most of them... So full of life.

The exact opposite of Anti.

'I'm disappointed in you.'

The words rang in his head, but sent vibrations all the way down to his heart.

'I love you, child.'

It hurt. But for the wrong reasons.

'What did I ever do to deserve a friend like Henrik? A... Father?'
