The weekend went by in a flash. Koinu would be lying if she said she wasn't excited for another day at the academy. Her hitai-ate was safely tucked away in her bedside drawer, waiting for her to come back for it. It was going to be a while, but she didn't mind the wait. It was going to be worth it in the end. Besides, she wanted to grow alongside her best friend.

Pup, he is more than a best friend.

"What do you mean?"

You're too young to understand. But you will figure it out what I mean, soon enough.

She furrowed her brow. Why do spirits have to be so... cryptic at times? If she was too young to understand it now, why bring it up at all? "Whatever." The silver figure on her bed chuckled, before fading away. Spirits are weird. "I have a quick question."

Hm?

"I've... been having some weird dreams. Dreams where I am talking to this blonde guy. He looks like Naruto but I know he's not Naruto. I keep calling him Yondaime. What's all that about?"

She raised an eyebrow, this vessel was most definitely special. I worked alongside your father before you. You know that. Your father was an acquaintance of the fourth hokage. They refer to him as the Yondaime. I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

"The Yondaime... the same one my father signed an alliance treaty with. Those are my father's memories. The memories you had while working beside him." She nodded. "But why does he look like Naruto?"

I think you need to figure that out yourself, pup.

She shrugged. "Okay, I'll do some digging around. Hopefully that Nara head will let me check out their library."

You struggle to read yet you continue to torture yourself.

"I can't get better at something if I don't keep pushing myself. Reading Japanese is hard, but it has been getting easier. I can thank Naruto and Shikamaru for that." She started braiding some beads into her hair. "Besides, I have to learn if I'm going to be a proper ruler. Most of our allencies speak Japanese."

Already thinking ahead?

There was a slight smirk on her face. "Of course, I am. I'm half of you after all." There was a knock on her apartment door. "Must be Naruto..." It wasn't. Unless he was wearing a hedge, he was pretty good at those. No, he doesn't smell like Naruto. "Uchiha? What are you doing here? Better question: how did you find my apartment?"

"I don't live far from here." He gets special treatment too. Figures. "Can I talk to you?"

"You're kinda already doing that. But sure. What do you want?"

"I wanna spar with you. If I can defeat you, then I have a better chance at defeating my brother."

"I'm going to stop you right there. Come on in. A conversation like this is best had inside." She stepped aside, opening the door wider to let him in. "Excuse the mess."

He took off his shoes before stepping inside, closing the door behind him. "Will you spar with me?"

"Yes, but only on one condition. I've heard through the grapevine that you have refused to see the Yamanka psychology experts. Is that correct?"

"What does that-"

"It's a yes or no answer. I'm pretty sure that yes and no mean the same thing in Japanese as they do in islander."

"Yes."

"Okay... You and I will train and spar together once a week, only if you see the Yamanka."

"Why do you care?"
