“Isn't bad? You could be more. I mean... You've got good education background.” Venti chuckles at the absurd things she stated. “At first, yes. I was disappointed in myself that after years of studying, why did I feel like I still wasn't ready?” he bit his nail with a small, upset smile plastered on his face, “But I knew my priorities. I figured that I can't stand there and wait 'til I am inclined with that kind of job.”
“Why did you take that course when you knew it wasn't your thing?”
“Family tradition, you know, stuff like that. Didn't want to disappoint anyone so I just gave in.” he winked at her as he took another sip of his drink. This topic wasn't easy to talk about, but he's glad that he had already buried the past somewhere deep inside his chest. There's no need to look back to it anymore.
“Guess we have the similarities...”
“In what particular way?” just like Aether... So easy to tease. Cute too. “Some things aren't supposed to be told to a stranger you know!” she screamed at him as a blush creeps on her face. Don't know how they're similar... They're so far from each other. There's no way for them to be the same. “Weren't you the one who called me here?” he smirked between his sip, his teeth crushing the straw's tip as he mocked the girl in front of him.
He looked so dreamy this way... Making it harder to determine if he was gay or not. Venti teasing girls are so attractive. I swear, if we remove the fact that he was head over heels for Xiao, anyone could really think he was straight. Venti's charisma is something else too! It's not only Xiao... Scaramouche... And Kazuha who's hot!
He's very appealing to women!
You don't know how many girls have confessed to Venti. Aether would always tease him about them because he knows for a fact that his best friend was a rainbow. For Aether... His charm was too different from Venti's. Venti was more of the handsome one... The one to date. While Aether had this... Arousing vibe that captivates any men he wants to, as if he had a potion with him and he makes them drink it or something.
Suddenly, Mona's phone rang from the inside of her Gucci bag, damn. “I have to go.”
Thank god, now he can leave this place. He really wanted to get out as soon as possible, but his small talk with her was quite interesting too.
He was about to walk out until he felt something, no, someone, grab his hand. “you forgot your folders.” Xiao was staring at him as if he was some type of art in a museum, but those eyes were dark for a reason. There was something in it that Venti didn't understand.
There wasn't any time to.
He quickly grabbed the folder from the desk and shifted his way out of the store. He didn't want any words with Xiao.
Why do they always meet? As if... As if fate has something left for the both of them? Why does fate always have to give Venti hope? As far as I know, fate and miracle are two different things... Or, maybe it's all just a coincidence and fate doesn't actually exist because love isn't real! More realistic, isn't it?
“What a stalker you are. I'm starting to think you like me, Venti. Cool Wattpad trope, ‘My best friend actually likes me.’”
“Don't assume too far.” Venti rolled his eyes in frustration. This bitch. “You didn't inform me which cafe you'd guys go to, it's all coincidence.”
“In fairness, he looked at you earlier as if you were the only one in the world. As he should! Make him chase instead.” ugh, Aether always likes assuming too fast. It was actually because there was something on Venti's face and he only noticed it when he left the cafe, yeah, he embarrassed himself again. But it didn't really feel as shameful as before because he's used to it.
