Lex and I are on our way home and she won't stop talking about how her boyfriend, Mark, didn't ask her to homecoming. She's gonna make me crash this car with how much she's distracting me.

This year the school is doing girls ask boys and Lex just can't get that through her mind she still wants Mark to ask her.

I think there should be a rule somewhere saying, "if you're dating don't ask each other out to homecoming just go with them." It would make things so much easier.

I mean I don't care either way but it'll save my ears from all this bickering.

"I mean can you believe him!?" Lexie says in frustration. Bringing me back to reality.

"Why don't you ask him?"

"Ugh Meredith you'll never understand! Your nose is always stuck in a book. You're not aware of your surroundings ever!" Lex said as I pulled into our driveway.

I simply just ignored her and grabbed my stuff from the backseat. When Lex got her stuff out I locked the car and walked inside.

"Meredith make me something to eat!" My drunk father, thatcher, said slurring his words.

I sighed and headed to the kitchen and started making what he likes best. Plain rice and grilled chicken.

"Dad can I get 50 bucks to go to the mall with my friends?" Lexie asked all innocent.

"Of course darling. You know what, here, use this" he said handing her his card. What an asshole.

"Oh thank you dad! I love you so much! Mer whenever you're done take me to my friends houses then to the mall" Lex said.

Once I finished the food I served a plate full of food to thatcher.

"Hey Lex want food?" I ask and she looked up from her phone and shook her head.

I saved the leftovers incase my mother, Ellis, comes home from work early. I go to my room and change my vans into converse.

I tell Lexie to get in the car so we can go pick her friends up.

"First April, then Cristina, and umm Maggie." She said buckling her seatbelt.

"When are you getting your driver license or Atleast your permit?" I asked backing out of our driveway.

"I've failed my permit test 3 times so I don't think I'll be driving on my own for a while." That's true she has maybe she should just ask mark to take her everywhere.

We picked all lexies friends and I drove them to the mall. I dropped them off at the front entrance and I drove to find a parking spot. Once I found one, I decided to go inside, walk around and see what I find.

I ended up in the bookstore. It seemed to be crowded today and a few flashes coming from cameras. That's when I saw her. Colleen Hoover,  my all time favorite author. I bought her newest book, Reminders Of Him, and waited in line to have it autographed. I also got a picture with her.

I left the book store and walked to my car waiting till Lexie tells me she's ready to go. I really hate being her chauffeur, but if I don't comply I get in trouble at home so might as well do what everyone tells me to.
