Louise's POV

For the first time in my life, I wish to be special, to be distinguishable. Not to be silenced. I thought as I got ready to kick the ball at Phys Ed, during a game of cricket-soccer, (A/N: cricket-soccer is like a new sport that has come to light in recent years, which involve bases like cricket and instead of having a cricket ball, a soccer is kicked into the field) which I knew that our team would lose pretty much quickly and easily. Our team had the widest selection of nerds, computer, language, maths, you can pretty much get every nerd in the team. And I was just a very ordinary kid that stood out at nothing. I hated Phys Ed, sucked at almost all subjects, and not to mention that I was a lone wolf in the whole school campus. I just didn't know what I did to attract nothing. No friends. None at all.

I swiped away my thoughts and gave the ball a huge solid kick, and started running with all my might to the nearest base, trying to save myself from being eliminated and sitting the side benches. And... guess what? My efforts were completely wasted. I was halfway to the second base when the ball was tossed back into home base.

"And... Louise, you're out!" Ms Crevasse said, pointing to the side benches. I groaned. It would be the time when we're pitching that I can get back out into the field.

I sat down and watched the whole game unfold. And it turns out that we had such bad luck today, we lost by so much. 10 to zilch.

I stood up, bones groaning in pain, and sulked off to the first base, a.k.a. the second base that we had on the field. There were six bases in total, just for the kids who were sporty in the class to have a challenge. I guess that's what you get in the best private school in Manhattan: torture at Phys Ed.

As the ball came flying to the other side, all I could do was watch. Someone had predicted the odds of them kicking in different directions and decided me to send to the area that they would least likely be kicking in. I could just stand there and watch it unfold. We got through the first five goals unscathed. And on the sixth goal, something extraordinary happened. I didn't know what happened, whether it was something in my lunch box or something going all wonky in me, but I started to have a bad case of Elvis legs. They were turning to jelly and started to shake really badly. I could barely stand when I saw the ball hurtling towards my direction. Great. I had to catch the thing and leave my post. I started to run down the hill and then I collapsed, feeling very woozy. The next thing that I saw when I woke up was the faces of my teammates. I was standing back in my hula hoop that marked the base and the ball was successfully in first base. And somehow everyone had been ruled out. There were no players in play on the opposing team. Everyone was looking at me, dazed. I suddenly lost the ability to stand, and collapsed like a blob of jello onto the ground. My vision clouded and I drifted out of consciousness.
