Daisy's POV
I woke up in a cage like structure. I could see just a simple lock and nothing else. No guards, no nothing. I decided to take the risk and bust the lock. I raised a hand to blast the lock open, but somehow I didn't have the strength to. Weird. That was the only time that I haven't been able to use my powers, ever since that Nathaniel experience.I pulled out a bobby pin from my hair and picked the lock. I could see that there was only one door in the very dimly lit room that I was in. I opened the door, which was surprisingly not locked, and found myself in an empty hallway. My escape plan has been going quite well for the time being. That was when it all went south. I saw someone at the edge of the hallway, advancing on me, the tiny pinprick of a human growing larger and larger as it approached.
"You're not supposed to be here." A chillingly familiar voice rang out from the human.
"Louise?"
"Yes. That's me. now, go back into the room or you'll regret it."
"Louise, chill. Whatever those people did to you, don't listen to them!"
"Do you think that I had a choice?" She said, and then she finally could see me straight in the eye. Only this version of Louise wasn't the previous sweet little girl that I have seen the first time that I have met her. Her hair was cropped boy short, and for some reason, her eyes seemed to glow purple.
"Louise. Whatever they did to you, it's affecting you! Snap out of it!"
"Last warning! Go back to your cage or else."
"Or else what?" I asked.
"I whip your butt."
"I believe that you won't be able to do that." I said.
"Oh yeah? Try me." She said. Definitely not the Louise that I have met in the first place. She aimed a kick at me, and I barely had time to react, to dodge it. It missed me by an inch or so.
"Nice try."
"Not my best." She said, and aimed another kick at me. This time, it hit me straight in the face. I could feel it go hot. I pressed a hand to it, and something hot and sticky filled my hand. She drew blood. Now, this was highly unacceptable. No friend is allow to kick me. Only enemies or May get to do that. I saw red in front of me, pulled out my gun, I didn't remember which one, and fired. The bullet hit her with an oomph and she slumped to the ground, hopefully just unconscious.
I went to check on her, and I realised, with relief, that I didn't use my life ammo gun. It was just an icer. Lucky for me and for her. I carried her limp body with me, blasting and stunning every other guard that I could see in the hallways, and walked to the exit of the whole structure, knocking out any security cameras that I have seen along the way. I touched my ear; the comm that SHIELD had given me wasn't spotted and my captors haven't been able to see it.
"Tremors to SHIELD-457, do you copy?"
"Rerouting to your current position." I heard Mack say. Help was on the way. I sat on the grass.
Mack's POV
"How come that you lost her?""She volunteered to be taken for our safety, sir." One of the main members of the group that Daisy had led to find Louise said timidly. Me being mad at them is a really bad sight. No one wanted to piss me off, me being the boss and all of that.
"Let's hope that your decision won't cause our best agent's death." I said, plainly, and turned to sitting in the cockpit, just wanting to get away from them all.
"Mack, you know that you were there, right?" Yo-Yo managed to sneak up upon me, like she always could.
"Yes. And I got knocked out. I know. But I need someone to blame for it. So I took that person. Tell him that I'm sorry and that I didn't mean it, Yo-Yo, ok?"
"No, I know the reason of your angst, and I do hope that it helps you through it." I set course of home, as I knew that it would be literally impossible for us to rescue Louise and Daisy both, in our tattered status.
"I'm bringing us home." I said.
"Whatever you think necessary, Director." Yo-Yo said, and left me alone. I settled myself into the chair and watched as the clouds streaked past me in that very long ride. I stared off into space for quite a while until some static noises from our comms system distracted me.
"Tremors to SHIELD-457, do you copy?" I popped out of my seat like a toast out of the toaster, and dashed to the control panels.
"Rerouting to your coordinates now." I said, and turned the jet around.
"Daisy, we're coming to get you." I said, and buckled up.
