Chapter 4 (The Chase)

Black Canary (Dinah Lance) POV

As flames began to appear. Batman rushes to the front and uses his cape to protect himself from it. (Yes, his entire suit is fire prove)

The Martians shiver at the site. We try to comfort John Jones (J'ohn J'onzz). Megan Morgan (M'gann M'orzz) cuddles with her newly wedded husband, Superboy (Conner kent). (They're married in this AU. The preparation and wedding when off without a hitch. It was a month before the events, so they're still new to this)

When the flame stops, a well-known flying pyromaniac appears. Garfield Lynns, a.k.a Firefly, in what looks like an upgraded version of his suit. Completed with a brand new flamethrower and jets.

"How ya like my new suit." Catwoman remarks, "Dashing, where'd you get it." "It's an exclusive club." (yes, that is a reference to a web-head video game)

"Where's Dent and Nygma, Lynns. What are you planning." Firefly chuckled and replied, "Try to guess, and if you want to know where they are. Then you'll have to CATCH ME, BATMAN." As he said that, he flew down the tower and yelled, "AND IF YOU DON'T, I'LL BURN THIS CITY TO THE GROUND!"

"He can't be serious, right?" A fearful Megan was in horror at that much fire in one place. Connor, who was as concerned, replied, "No way. That big of a fire could take months to finish, and with Ace Chemicals. No one is that crazy." They were starting to have hope before Oliver commented, "If met this guy during patrol once. He is obsessed with fire to the point his entire skin is burnt. This is something he'll most likely do." I slap him at the back of his head. "Nice job Oli. You took away their hope." I can't believe I'm married to this idiot.

"Gordon, Bullock, Montoya. I need you to get me some answers from the thugs." "Got it." As the three cops rush to the elevator, Gordon makes a call. "This is Commissioner Gordon, every thug that we just arrested probably knows what's gonna happen. I want them to speak and take anything that could help us."

He was about to make another, but Batman interrupted him. "Don't call Barbara. I know she's having a sleepover at the manor. Alfred told me the kids just went to sleep, and I don't want to wake them." Gordon smiled and said, "You a good father, Bruce." "Same goes for you."

We smile at the gesture. The two clearly have a close bond.

"Ahem." Batman switches his sights to Catwoman, who says, "What about me?" "Did you come here with your bike?" She smirks and replies, "Obviously." "Get your bike. If there is more member of this alliance, more might appear. A chase might occur, and I can't be in two places at once." "And what about you. The batmobile is in too much of a public place to convert. And chances are it'll be too late when it does."

"Wait, the batmobile can convert into a regular car?"

He walks to the balcony behind his office and says, "You know me, Selina. I have my ways." He stands on the railing and dives down. He was facing down, arms and legs straight, gaining speed by the seconds.

"Mr. Wayne, this is a recorded message activated when a doing certain activities or using specific gadgets. It will explain all the upgrades that have been added." Batman smiles at this, and a recording plays. "The cape, known for keeping Batman safe from some scenarios and gliding him through the air. It has been modified to have a permanent shape when gliding, making it more manageable. The suit has also been modified, making it lighter but still sturdy and adjustable. The grapple can achieve new heights with the modified slingshot mode. Hope this comes in use. And for defense purposes, it's now bullet-prove and can resist scratches." 'I'm definitely giving him a raise.'
