Chapter 2- The Hunt

~Reiko's P.O.V~

Edward came walking towards me, and if I were actually alive and not a moving figure, my heart would be beating really fast right now. Edward smirked, I really need to control my thoughts around him. He looks at me as if he was agreeing with me, and I really did need to, before something sli-.. Edward cuts me off, "Hello, Reiko, as you may know I'm Edward Cullen" I look at him, just astonished by his... Velvety, sexy vo- "Control your thoughts" he winks at me, and I can't help but smile at him "Ok' I mouth. 'Ready?' I think, and he nods, and we're walking out the door.

~In the Forest~

We're walking into the forest, and then he asks me "How come you never speak, but only think? Peoples' mind voice doesn't always sound like their speaking voice." I look at him 'Fine, Edward, I'll speak. But I can't talk as of right now..' I was holding my breath. "Ah, I see. Don't want to breathe so you don't smell the humans?" I nod, and I'm surprised he actually caught on fast like that. "Let's hunt!" He yell-whispers, probably not wanting anyone to hear. And he's off. I run after him, but he's very fast and I want to run along side him, and not look like the girl who has a crush on a guy and is chasing him. He slows down a little so I can catch up. I'd be faster if I wasn't so thirsty and weak. I suddenly stop in my tracks and close my eyes, then inhale deeply, knowing we are far enough from the humans so I can breathe and locate animals. But all I can smell is a passerby, a hiker. My eyes snap open, raging with thirst as I run towards the human. "Reiko, no!!" Edward speaks at a normal voice, as I can hear him very clearly. I just can't stop running towards the fresh scent of human blood.. As the human has blood gashing out of his leg... Edward catches up to me and grabs on to me, and he shakes his head, which I don't know if it had anything to do with disappointment, it was hard to tell with his flawless pokerface. I snap out of blood-crazy mode and look at Edwards face, trying to find a hint of disgust or dissapointment towards me, as I felt with myself. "It's ok" he whispers to me, but he's always been a ok actor, so I fell for it. 'I'm so sorry! I-I am very so-' "Shh, Reiko. I almost went like that, until I caught the scent of the human and stopped trying to smell" I look at the ground, trying hard not to cry, as there would be no tears. "I'll go get you an animal, the human is being treated as of right now, and I don't want you to be disapointed in yourself if you go in another frenzy, ok?" I can't help but nod and hug him. I can tell he's shocked at my action. "Thank you" as I actually speak, since I had inhaled earlier, I am able to say this thoughtful phrase. He hugs back quickly, then he 'whooshes' and he's gone. How I'm lucky to have a friend like him, so selfless. He is back in a matter of a minute, while he has a mountain lion with him, and my jaw drops 'Wow' I think, and he smiles, proud of himself. I bite into the neck of the already dead lion, and drain him fully. When I'm done, I look up at him, and his eyes are still black. "Go and eat" I tell him, and I feel kinda selfish that he only got me something. He looks at me, like he's asking his mom for permission to do something and hopeful for a 'yes'.

~Edward's P.O.V~

Reiko looks so gorgeous, as for I've only seen her with black eyes, and her eyes are a butter gold making her look less gloomy. "Go and eat" she tells me, and from her thoughts she feels selfish. I give her a pleading to go and eat, considering I've been so depressed and lonely ever since Bella had left that I haven't hunted in about a week. She nods, giving me a slight smile, and I'm off.

~Back at Lunch~

~Reiko's P.O.V~

Edward looks kind of depressed, but satisfied at the same time. "Edward?" I ask, and he looks at me, waiting for me to continue, "You ok?" and his expression falls, looking as if he had just been abandoned. He gives me a look saying that was why, and I can't help but realize..

Edward Cullen loved somebody else.

I walk out of the cafeteria at an inhuman speed, as I'm about to sob. I walk into the ladies room and start crying long and hard, but no tears are ever to come.
