Chapter 7

In the ICU ward, the young man wore white and blue striped patient clothes and he was on a ventilator. He lied in bed, pale faced.

He had been lying there for a week or so.

During this time, many people passed by the room. News of the Wei Family's elder son getting into a car accident and in an unconscious state had spread. Many people sighed, saying that Wei Zhe had bad fortune. When he was young, his mother passed away and his grandparents didn't like him. He finally grew up but now he was in an accident.

Of course, no matter their thoughts, they had to act on the surface.

There were some affluent families that sent their sons or daughters to visit. In reality, they just bought some gifts and said some blessings. They sat for a while before leaving. The lower-class families wanted to please the Wei Family, so they personally came over to visit him. If they could coincidentally meet Wei He, that'd be the best.

What a pity that Wei He was too busy trying to catch the culprit behind the accident, so he didn't even have time to visit Wei Zhe at the hospital.

Of course, even if he had time, he wouldn't go. After all, there were nurse assistants. He just needed to know the end result.

Wei He was anxious to catch the culprit not just so he could get revenge for Wei Zhe, but also because he needed to give an explanation. The Wei Family's most important eldest son was lying in the hospital because he got in a car accident. Yet, the culprit was still free outside. These days, Wei Jing has been staying in the hospital. His big brother lived in the best single ward there was in the hospital and the child had people bring in a bed. That way, he could sleep there everyday. The doctors provided food from the restaurant. Although the food tasted normal, it was edible.

He wanted to go find Wei He, but he didn't know where to find him.

Was Wei He someone that he, an unfavorable 'illegitimate son' could see?

As time passed, Wei Zhe's injury gradually stabilized and his expression improved. In contrast, it seemed as though Wei Jing was the one that was heavily injured in the car accident. His face was so pale that it seemed transparent. It made people worried that he might be blown away by the wind.

"Xiao Jing, eat some more. Don't end up falling down when your big brother recovers." The nursing assistant in charge of serving Wei Zhe glanced at the child kindly.

"Mn." Wei Jing shoved pak choi in his mouth without tasting it. "I'm fine. Aunty, don't worry."

The two nurse assistants were both in their forties and they had children at home. Some of their children even had children of their own. Right now, the nurse assistants glanced at Wei Jing as though looking at their own children. They felt bad! The two of them served Wei Zhe, so they naturally had some understanding of his condition.

The longer he was unconscious, the less likely it was for him to wake up.

There was a lot that one could do in a week such as capturing the culprit behind the accident.

That person was incited by Wei Mei's mother. She had connections to gangs and underground forces. Naturally, hiring someone to cause an accident was easy for her. She even bribed the Wei Family's driver. Otherwise, there couldn't have been that much of a coincidence. Wei Zhe was in extreme danger but the other two only suffered from light injuries in the car accident.

The driver and the truck driver both crashed into one another on purpose. All of the coincidences became inevitable.

It was expected.
