The drive to the Pack House is boring, Jay is laying across the back seats since she didn't call shot gun fast enough. Her mother's GMC Jimmy is small, and doesn't fit her like it used to. Tay is chatting with their mom about school, and what college he plans to go to, and his friends. Their mom nods along and and asks how the search for scholarships is going, the answer is not good.Humans are second class, and most are expected to turn out as Werewolf mates who look after the house. It's pathetic and sad. Tay ensures their mom that he will find one, or at least one that will take care of the balk of his tuition and then he will work for the rest.

When their dad left them for his Werewolf mate six years ago, he refused to help his children, had claimed that it would make his mate jealous and that it would be best to cut all ties. Their mother had agreed, had worked long hours to make up for the hole their dad had made, and wanted to continue to help them with what ever they wanted. But college, was a hard one, it was more expensive for humans to get in, and the requirements were of a high standard, higher than it was for the Wolves. For their mother to pay for it all was impossible, which is why Jamie had full accepted to becoming Junipers Mate. She had the means that their mother didn't. Jamie was always trying to lessen their mothers financial burden, even offered to pay for half of the morgage on the house. Their mother declined, but only asked that he save that money for when she's old and grey and needs a babysitter.

Jay listens to radio instead of the conversation being had. She doesn't like to think about Werewolves more than she absolutely must. The radio is playing old 2000s tracks, and it makes Jay wrinkle her nose. They were in 2030, and these songs were so old. But she finds herself singing to them anyway.

By the time they reach the house, all of them are singing Say My Name by Destiny's Child at the top of their lungs. Jay is breathless from laughing so hard and from singing, Tay is equally as breathless, and their mother has some years in her eye from laughing so hard. For that moment Jay is happy, she forgot that she had to meet the Wolves today, forgot that she is meant to be second place.

Getting out of the Jimmy they are all still trying to catch their breath through their giggles. Jay is so distracted that she wasn't looking where she was going and bumped into a wall.

Well, if walls were warm, and made growling sounds that shakes with the intensity of it. Tay had Jay by his side is seconds, and had his neck bared. Jay quickly followed suit and apologized. There was a gruff sounds that came from the wolf, before he stomped off to the house. Jay was shaking a little, what a fool, forgetting where she was.

"Sometimes I think they think that they're caveman with the the way they try to talk," Tay whispers in her ear so that none of the Wolves would pick up on it, and Jay's laugh is a huff of air. Their mother rounds them up, she's tense from the encounter and rushes them towards the rest of the humans in the pack.

"Mom!" A voice calls in their direction, looking to the voice they see that it's Jamie. His brown hair is styled up and his blue eyes have a squint in them from him smiling. Their mom is the first to reach Jamie, wrapping him in a big hug. Because Jamie lives with the Beta's family the only time they get to see him is during the Pack meetings. It sucks, but it's better than nothing. "And there's my little Tay and baby Jay!" Jamie ropes them into a group hug, and Tay protests about being called little and says "God dammit Jamie I am six foot three, that's hardly little!"

They break up when Juniper comes to say hello. Their mom greets her politely, but not with much warmth. Jamie rolls his eyes, moves to stand by his mate and places a loose hold on her waist. "Stephan wants me to sit with them for the meeting, is that alright mom?" He asks, but everyone knows that it's not really a question. Tay and Jay giggle at the fact that the Beta finally let Jamie get on first name basis. Mom nods begrudgingly and Jamie is all smiles again. Jay elbows Jamie in the stomach as retaliation, he doubles over groaning. Tay and Jay share a secret high five, and glare at Jamie. "Rude, treat your older brother with some respect." Jamie rubs at the ache, and Jay sticks her tongue out.
