Chapter 14

“I know you have a boyfriend, but like I said, I feel like—”

“Yeah, I know what you said, but you do realize I have a boyfriend, right?” I ask him. I’m officially thankful that Jesse and I are a fake couple now, I don’t think my nose could stand being around this guy for a full hour with nothing to distract myself except him which would be him, talk about dilemma.

“I said that already...just one night, you don’t even have to consider it a date.” Taylor says.

“But you will.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement.

“Probably.” Taylor flashes me a million dollars smile.

“Uh-huh.” I say.

“But that’s not the point, the actual question is; will you do on a date with me.”

I sigh heavily, “Even if I wanted to, which doesn’t mean I do by the way, I can’t go.” I tell him.

“Why?” Taylor frowns slightly.

“I’m grounded. I can’t go out with friends never mind leave my own room when I’m at home.” I grumble. I’m still angry at that part, my rooms not that fun.

“Well, can’t you like, sneak out or something? You don’t seem to be the type to follow rules.” Taylor points out.

I nod solemnly. “You’re right, I’m not, but I’ve already snuck out once and I got caught coming back, so I don’t think it’s going to fly too high.” I begin to walk down the hall, tiered of Taylor’s pleas and his smell.

Sadly, he follows.

“Well, try again.”

“Look.” I stop and turn to face him. “I have a mom that wakes up at the slightest sound and a dad you never want to see angry, not to mention I’ve still got a week or so left and it’s already been almost a month. What I did, was pretty bad, I’ll admit and my parents, and Parker’s, were not happy.” I glare at him.

“Wait, why were your boyfriends parents mad?” Taylor asks with a puzzled look.

“We live together.”

“You live in the same house as your boyfriend?!” Taylor exclaims completely shocked.  Jeez, it’s not that weird is it?

“Yeah, so that only adds another reason why I can’t sneak out.”

“How about right now? We can ditch the rest of the day, I can take you out to a movie or something, I’ll pay.” He adds hastily.

Free food, a guy who smells horrible and a movie at the same time, what could go wrong?

“Fine, let’s go then.” I begin to walk towards the front entrance.

“Won’t your friends wonder where you are?”

“Parker might, because he knows I’m still grounded ‘till my birthday, but this isn’t abnormal for me, to ditch during the day.”

“Oh.” Is all he says.

“So are we going or not? My stomach is regretting skipping lunch.” I mumble impatiently.

Taylor smiles and follows me out. “Don’t worry, you won’t regret this.” Taylor tells me.

Well, my stomach might not, but my nose already is, I think to myself. This is going to be one long movie.

After an argument about the movie we would see (I wanted an action movie while he wanted comedy...I won) a huge line for tickets, (who knew a movie theatre would be packed on a Wednesday?) a not so cheery college student selling us popcorn and the difficulty to find good seats somewhere in the middle, Taylor and I finally sat down.
