"We couldn't find Mrs Chen", Yifan said to Beomgyu as the latter sat in his cabinet, on his chair, looking at him with his fingers under his chin, "We visited the apartment she used to live in, but she no longer lives there. Her neighbours say that she moved out two weeks ago. They know nothing else"
Beomgyu was silent for a while before he let out an "oh" and nodded his head. He thought for a while, not really sure what to do with this new information before he looked back at his man, "Did you look for her in other places?", he finally asked.
"We searched for her everywhere, Mr Choi", Yifan responded, "In every neighbourhood, every street, every corner but we couldn't find any information about her current location"
Beomgyu bit on his lower lip, thinking. He was certain Dark Eagle had helped her disappear like that, so he would avoid getting revealed by her. After all, he didn't want her to be found. He just wanted her to stay quiet. Beomgyu was even surprised that he didn't kill her yet, so he'd be safer like that.
"Alright", Beomgyu simply replied, "You're dismissed"
Yifan smiled slightly and bowed before walking past the younger boy without another word.
For the evening Beomgyu and Yeonjun sat together in the car, heading to the casino, so they could have some fun and take their minds off the recent events. However, Yeonjun seemed distracted by something, looking through his window most times and playing with his bracelet almost unconsciously.
Yeonjun was always fidgety when he felt anxious, or if he wasn't feeling well, so Beomgyu was very confused by his actions.
"What's wrong?", Beomgyu asked while driving, giving his best friend a glance before looking back at the road.
Yeonjun sighed, looking back through the side mirror, his disturbed eyes landing on the black car following them, "Are they gonna follow me everywhere?", he asked about Jinsoul and Garam driving the car that was behind them. The males hadn't left Yeonjun alone even for a minute after Beomgyu told them to be his bodyguards. Yeonjun was already starting to feel disturbed because of that.
"I think so", Beomgyu answered in an unbothered manner. His eyes were glued onto the road, only glancing occasionally at his friend.
"Do you guys plan to kill me one day? Because I don't think I can stand it anymore", Yeonjun said and rolled down his window, so the air was flowing over his face and hair.
Beomgyu let out a sigh, his hands turning the wheel, "If you don't want them to disturb you anymore, then I need to know everything in detail", he demanded, causing tension to grow inside his friend, "Why were you crying that day?"
Yeonjun remained silent, still staring out of the window wordlessly, not giving Beomgyu any glance. The ravenette kept his gaze focused on him, waiting for him to speak, but when he received no response, he sighed and looked back at the road, disappointment settling in his eyes.
"Knew it"
After a few minutes, Beomgyu pulled into the parking lot of his casino, killing the engine immediately and getting up from the seat. Yeonjun also got outside and fixed his clothes. He was wearing dark pants and a black turtleneck sweater with a suit jacket thrown over it. He also wore his usual white sneakers while a silver watch decorated his wrist.
They entered the building, greeted by a bouncer and escorted by security guards towards the VIP area where the games and gambling booths were located, Garam and Jinsoul following them behind. A table was set up at the end of the hallways for guests, which had several slot machines placed on it and a bunch of different gaming chips.
The boys approached the table and sat down, ordering a round of drinks. While sitting down Yeonjun's expression was serious and determined. It almost looked like he was preparing himself for an important task that could decide his fate. Beomgyu noticed the sudden change in his behaviour as he sat opposite the older, giving him a wink to cheer him up. But Yeonjun only scoffed and rolled his eyes.
