Tranquillity thrived in the breeze that swept through the town of Green Hills with the break of the new day that seemed to forget everything of that eventful night.

It was like nothing had happened. It was like Robotnik had never existed. No traces of his plans remained, like the government had swept it under the carpet to hide it from the memories of the residents that now went about their lives as usual.

Only (Y/n) Wachowski remembered the evening - being pushed from the very tip of the Transamerica building and falling at the speed her hedgehog friend could run at his own desire, and living a nightmare of him touching the border between life and death.

It all seemed too surreal to be reality as the memories that still felt like they took place just a few minutes ago became buried in (Y/n)'s mind. Daylight that sparkled into the dining room surrounded by dented walls brought the pleasure of a new morning to the Wachowski family as they plastered a fresh layer of paint to hide the events that previously took place there.

(Y/n) caressed the indented walls with the softened touch of a paint brush, each strand soaked in a darkened shade of grey that seemed to have been mixed within the smallest amount of cerulean. It was like the events that the room recently experienced was being painted into time, freezing it into the past underneath each stroke.

"You got enough there?" Tom joked to Maddie, his sponge roller drenched in paint hovering too close to her for her liking.

"Yes, Mr. Manager." Maddie laughed back, attempting to restore the perfect layer of paint that previously thrived against the wall without any disruption.

"You need any more?" Tom jested back, purposefully shoving the painting tool towards his giggling wife in hopes of splattering the grey shade to her pure white shirt.

"Get that away!" Maddie laughed, their daughter accompanying the sounds of entrainment as her mother ducked out of they way in clean timing.

Suddenly, the knocking of a door to alert the residents of the house to someone's presence rattled the walls the three of them blazoned the enticing shade of grey to. (Y/n) observed as her parents scurried to the front door, interested to see who had come but also aware she could only listen.

She rested her paintbrush into the can and slipped into the living room, avoiding the door that her parents swiftly opened to reveal who she could just about notice to be a member of the government. She rolled her eyes that glistened with (e/c), hoping that he wouldn't be another trickster like Robotnik.

(Y/n) slouched into the comforting hands of the beige cushions of the couch, begging for it to envelop her into its luxuriously softened texture. Ozzy the dog panted beside her, a hand of hers sliding through the golden silk of his fur.

She attempted to listen in on the conversation between her parents and the apparent member of the community that supported the residents of the town.

(Y/n) overheard some form of gift being donated, but mainly focused on the interaction relating to the night that would never leave her thoughts.

"Oh, hey, I guess we can close the file on that Robotnik guy, huh? Just disappeared?" She heard her father inquire.

"I'm sorry, but, no such person exists, or ever has existed." came the reply, a smile crossing (Y/n)'s face in response.

"I wish that were true." Tom replied with a sigh.

"You haven't by any chance been in contact with a certain alien creature since the incident, have you?" came the voice from the outside world, (Y/n) feeling her stomach leap with nerves, knowing full well who he meant.
