《 Thirty - Eight 》

Four days passed by with everything going smoothly. Each day, the tiger dropped him off at work and stole several kisses from his flustered lover. Today had been no different. Yifan had almost pinned him to the vehicle door as their lips had locked. It had taken Lorenzo five minutes to get the possessive lips off his own. Risa almost cried while watching them from inside. In the afternoon, Lorenzo was at his shop with Jade and Rosy when chaos came to visit. The man was designing a piece of clothing on his tablet when he heard the doors open. He heard the clicking of heels and looked up to see his ex-best friend. Serena walked up to him with a smirk on her face. She was wearing a pink dress that showed off her baby bump. The woman was glowing with happiness. Happiness that she didn't deserve.

"Show me your shop's best designs, my wedding is next month." She said and Lorenzo smirked.

"Jade, do you mind showing her the dresses she will wear for her cheating fiancé?" The elder bit back and leaned back in his chair. Serena panicked and clutched her stomach. Her mascara-filled eyes became glazed with suspicion.

"W-What are you talking about?" The woman asked with a panicked face. Panic rose in her throat and the man laughed.

"Karma spares no one, Serena." Lorenzo said seriously. He knew Jacob would break her heart like he had broken his. This time, it was her turn to feel his hurt.

Serena rushed out of the shop angrily and Jade grabbed Lorenzo's arm. "Come with me."

His friend took him to the backroom and Rosy followed behind. The women locked the door and turned to face Lorenzo. Rosy crossed her arms and Jade put her hands in her pocket. Lorenzo panicked when he saw their mad faces. "Explain, Lorenzo."

"W-What are you guys talking about?" He tried to play dumb, but his friends didn't buy his act.

The red-haired woman came closer and set a hand on his shoulder. "Do you think we're stupid?"

"Rosy, what are you saying?" He asked the shorter woman who looked back at Jade.

The taller woman came forward and sat Lorenzo down on a stool. She sat down in front of him and Rosy stood next to her. "Lorenzo. You are not cruel enough to hurt Serena like this. You've been acting weird every time she comes in with her fiancé."

The red-haired woman spoke next. "You treated her so good. What happened to between you two?"

Lorenzo felt like a cornered prey. He let out a defeated sigh and looked at his best friends. "If I tell you the truth, you both will be so disappointed in me."

"Lorenzo, I only see pain when I look into your eyes." Rosy said with a worried tone. "Please tell us what's going on."

Lorenzo couldn't bear to see the worry on their faces. How long could he hide the truth from them? Sooner or later, they would find out. The man took a deep breath and told them the truth, not leaving any details behind. He told them about dating Jacob secretly and only Serena knew that. He confessed what he saw when he caught them both. Lorenzo told them about being approached by Rosanna and meeting Yifan. He told them about the fake marriage for revenge. When Lorenzo was finished talking, tears were falling down his face.

"I understand if... if you guys don't want to be my friend anymore." He said while hiding his face in his hands. "I'm such a bad person."

He didn't receive any reply. Lorenzo knew they were going to abandon him. He gasped when two muscular hands wrapped around him tightly. Another pair of smaller arms hugged him from behind. The two women held him tight as he cried. "I'm so sorry."

"Hush, Lorenzo. It's okay. We got you now." Rosy said softly while kissing his head. "I am not mad at you. You had your reasons to lie about your marriage."
