River Flows In You

A few weeks had passed since I moved here. I got along well with the brothers. We'd hang out when we got nothing else to do. During those hang outs I learned that Trevor is a journalist; he's currently working on a book filled with poems and little essays about self-love. Dominique is an artist; he puts on an exhibit in the mall when he makes enough artworks, then donates the money he earns to charity. They're the absolute sweetest. *woof* Yiru looked up to me with a betrayed look. "Nobody is sweeter than my baby Yiru of course." I cooed and he made a satisfied face after that.

*Ding dong* The doorbell rang, catching my attention. "That must be the soundproof panels I ordered." Opening the door, there stood the delivery man with my packages and a clipboard in his hand. "Good morning ma'am!" He greeted me. "Good morning to you too!" I returned his happy energy. "Please sign here." I signed the papers needed and after that he finally gave me my orders. I felt like a kid opening gifts on Christmas morning. My smile was very big to say the least.

I went inside the music room and started installing the sound proof panels. Of course, I played some tunes because if I didn't, I would be bored as hell and have zero motivation to finish. Dancing to Jiyuu No Tsubasa, vibing to Cry Baby and crying to Akuma No Ko and many more crazy stuff happened while fixing the room. But unfortunately, I couldn't finish before lunch time. So being a sane person I ordered food being too lazy to cook.

The FINGER LICKIN GOOD food has arrived! Oooohhh chicken fingers! Nope- no Sukuna fingers. I ordered a lot so I could eat with the boys. I knocked on their door but no one answered. They're probably locked up in their rooms working. It's a good thing I decided to order more. Those idiots really forget to eat and drink when they're so focused on work. I chuckled to myself. I have the audacity to say that when I forget to eat, drink and sleep when I'm practicing a song or piece. Welp- birds of a feather lose their sanity together.

Entering the house, I placed the food on the table and went upstairs. I headed first for Trevor since Dom only listens to his brother. Banging on the door I threatened the busy man inside. "OI MATE! IF YA DON'T OPEN UP RIGHT NOW I'LL BUST THIS DAMN DOOR OPEN AND BASH YER HEAD AGAINST IT!" I exclaimed in a thick cockney accent which seemed to catch the attention of the tall male. The door opened slowly and a scared Trevor came into view. I smiled innocently and asked "Did you two have lunch already?" He shook his head replying no. "Well, call Dom. I ordered KFC" His eyes lit up and speed walked to his brother's room. "DOMINIQUE APOLLO! DIANA ORDERED KFC" Five seconds didn't pass and Dom was already outside with paint all over his jeans and a paintbrush still in hand. Trevor swiped the paintbrush out of his hand then we made our way to the dining room.

I set the table and we proceeded to eat. Trevor almost finished the bucket all by himself but Dom swatted his hand before he attempted to. After eating, the boys fixed the table and washed the dishes. I, on the other hand, decided to snoop around their humble abode. I noticed an upright piano in the room across their pantry. Channeling my inner Bruno Mars again I pushed it outside to where the boys were. Gaw dayum- I ain't strong like a man. I'm strong like a bitch who wrestles with a bear- Once the piano was in the living room I shouted triumphantly "DAAAAAA" The boys looked to my direction in pure confusion then stiffened when they saw the piano. "You guys. Had a piano. All this time? AND DIDN'T THINK TO TELL ME!?!" They chuckled nervously and said that it was their mother's. "Oh. My mother passed away too. Three years ago in a car crash." Our faces dropped instantly. "Our mom died of cancer. She liked playing whenever she missed her best friend." Dom uttered. I ran out of their house and hurried to mine. They were shocked and called out my name. They even tried going after me. But stopped when they saw me out my door again after a legit minute holding a bag.

"What's that-?" The brothers asked simultaneously. "Tools." I simply replied then headed for the living room to fix the piano. "You haven't used this in about... 5 years? Am I correct?" I estimated the time the piano stood idle based on the amount of tuning and repair I did. "Yeah. You guessed it perfectly." Trevor said in astonishment at my precise guess. "Well yeah, our mom died 5 years ago so that's right." "I'm gonna fix it up a bit more. This might take a few hours." I announced. "It's ok. Do whatever you please. We'll be in our rooms working." Trevor informed. Before making his way to his room, Dom patted my shoulder. "I made dango and mochi. If you're hungry just grab them from the fridge." He smiled at me sweetly and I thanked him. Once they disappeared from my vision, I continued my work.

It's pretty much been 2 hours and the piano seems good as new! It sounds ethereal as well. The strings are in tune again and the wood is shiny like a new dime. I first played scales and some arpeggios. When I was satisfied I sat down and tried playing a piece. Deciding on "River Flows In You" I proceeded to get lost in the music. Little did I know that it caught the attention of the brothers. "Hey Dom." Trevor busted in his brother's room. "That's the song mom loves to play right?" He asked his brother Dom, tears threatening to fall down. "Yeah" Dom simply replied. Tears were already streaming down his face. After they composed themselves, they trotted downstairs looking at Diana in awe. Dom was too astonished and thought to himself. "The river of mom's memories flows in you. And I can't help help but drown in it."
