I rushed through the hospital doors following the nurses pushing afeez on a stretcher. You'll have to stay outside madam one of the nurses said to me. I was literally pacing back and forth in the hospital. I couldn't stay calm when my boyfriend just got shot.

The doctor came up to me asking me what my relationship was with patient. He's my boyfriend sir I told the doctor. Ok you'll have to fill the form at the receptionist downstairs. He needs an operation urgently to take out the bullet so it wouldn't cause any further complications. Ok sir please do what you can to save him Doctor. I'll try my best madam.

I went down to the reception to fill in the form. My heart racing at a thousand paces. My world felt like crumbling. He's in this position because of. He's in the ICU battling with a life and death situation. Please God let the surgery go well. I pray he's ok.

The doctor came out after a few hours. Doctor how is he I asked him in a rush.

We were able to get the bullet out of his body. His condition is stable now but...

At first I was very happy just hearing the doctor's words but everything came crashing as he said but. My thoughts were traveling far and wide. What could be the but be about. But what doctor?

But after the surgery he went into a coma. We don't know how long it'll take for him to wake up. It could be tomorrow or in a few weeks even years ma'am. He needs your prayers right now.

I fell to the floor clutching my chest like I could rip my heart out. Tears pouring down non stop. Why did you have to do this afeez. Why did you take the bullet for me. The nurse lead me to his ward. I walked in hearing the sound of the monitor beeping. Tubes connected to his nose and mouth. His right shoulder covered with bandage. Seeing him like that brought pain to my heart. I sat down next to him at the side of his bed. I took his hands in mine. Why did you have to take the hit for me? I should be the one lying on this bed and not you. You don't deserve any of this. You got hurt because of me. Am so sorry my love. Am so sorry.

I later got my wounds treated. I went back to his parents house. It felt weird stepping into the house without him by my side. The first day I set foot into this house he was by my side. The last time I set foot into this house, he was by my side. But now he's not. He's not here by my side. His mum came up to me embracing me in her hug.

My dear am glad you're ok. Don't worry yourself too much. I believe afeez will wake up very soon and come back home to us.

Her words felt comforting. It encouraged me to keep an open mind that he'll be back home soon. I took my bath washing off all the bad things that have happened in the past few days. All the pain, all the sorrow. I washed everything away.

That night I returned back to the hospital. I couldn't leave him all alone. I made myself a promise to always be by his side till the day he wakes up. I'll always come to sit by him till he gets out of this bed.

It's been two weeks now since afeez went into a coma. Everyday I'd gist him about how my day went, I'd tell him silly jokes and lots more. I've missed hearing that manly voice of his.

Today I woke up feeling happy. Extremely happy. I don't why but I feel like today is going to be a day of joy. I quickly too my bath and rushed to the hospital. Getting to his ward, a doctor and a nurse surrounded him. The nurse stepped to the side letting me have a view of the patient.

There he was sitting on the bed smiling at me. I rushed to him hugging him like never before. Don't you ever do that again. Do you know how worried you got me I said between sobs. Am glad you're ok.

Is that how you say you miss me babygirl. Even when he just came out of a coma he's still as cheeky as ever. You know I miss you babe. I felt like I could die without you. Don't ever do such a thing again. Why would you take the bullet for me huh? Didn't you think before standing in front of me?

Babygirl I'd do it over and over again just to keep you safe. If it means taking a thousand bullets for you, I'd take it without any remorse. I love you babygirl.

His words brought joy to my soul. The thought of finally getting married to him brought butterflies to my stomach. Now that sounded good.

I arrived home that evening. My family were there waiting for me. My mum trapped me in her hug. Thank God you're back home my son. I couldn't sleep knowing you were in the hospital. Welcome home my boy. Thank you mum. Am glad to be back.

Yooo lil bro. Am glad you're ok man. If you hadn't woken up from coma, I'd have slapped you so hard in the face you'd wake up.

Lol. Not like you'd do that anyways. I've missed you bro.

My mum made all my favorite dishes. Once again we are gathered here as a family. With the love of my life right by my side. I couldn't have asked for more

Today is the hearing on scorpion's case. He got sentenced to jail for life imprisonment under the cases of murder and kidnapping. Also he has other records of some really bad crimes. He won't get a chance to walk out of jail for life.
