A Secret Worth Keeping

A Good Morning

Y/N pov:

Waking up in the morning, I hop out of bed, unusual for a work day, I'm cheerful. But I do have a bit of a headache so that isn't fun. I hop in the shower, wash myself, hair and face, then hop out and get dressed.

"I have time today, I'll make toast" I say to myself as I smile down at the toaster, and putting my bread in.
I remember I have to go get my car, so I grab my bag and head to the door. As I open it I'm met with Officer Fenik, who was holding up a fist, obviously about to knock as I had opened the door. He also isn't wearing his uniform, he's in casual clothes.
He chuckles, knocks on the doorframe with his pointer finger knuckle "knock, kno~ock, a good morning to you~"

I giggle at him before he speaks again "ready to go get your car?" I nod in response, he steps to the side and gestures with his arm to say 'let's go' so I step out of the door, turn, lock the door, then turn back to him, stepping past him and down the two steps from the door. Officer Fenik follows then leads me to his car, it seems to be his personal one.

He opens the passenger door for me, and gestures for me to hop in. I smile and step into the car, putting my bag by my feet, and buckling in my belt. As I do so, Officer Fenik walks around the car and to the driver side, getting in and buckling himself in, then starting the car.

"Sleep well?" He asks as he pulls onto the street and heads to the pub. I smile at him "yeah, pretty well" he smiles as he glances at me "that's good, you looked pretty tired last night" I giggle a little, rubbing the back of my neck "yeah, nursing isn't an easy job, but it's what I want to do" he smiles a bit softer as he turns down the main street in town "fresh into the field, huh?" I nod and sigh "yeah, my first year as a full nurse" I smile over at him "but that doesn't make it any easier" I giggle.

As he turns down the street and parks next to my car, Officer Fenik smiles at me with kindness, and I feel my heart flutter in my chest. "I suppose this means I'll be seeing you more often" he chuckles softly. I giggle back to him "I suppose so" I get out of the car, leaning in to talk to him "I'll see you around then" I smile before closing the door and getting in my car. I head to work quickly, to a relatively uneventful shift.

I get home, slip my shoes off, then make dinner. Mac and Cheese with some chicken tenders, something simple. I watch a movie while I eat, then head to bed, snuggling up in my sheets and going to sleep.

Awhile later, in the middle of the night, I hear banging and rustling outside, which wakes me up, so I check from the window.
"Is that... Officer Fenik?"
