A Day Out

Y/N pov:

It's been a few weeks since I saw officer Fenik at the hospital. For once, I have a day off the same day as Kat. Yawning, stretching and slumping out of bed, I head to the bathroom. Brushing my teeth without a time stress I check my phone, seeing a message from Kat.

|Hey, I'll be at the cafe are 1pm, see you there.|
Read 9:51am

|No problem, getting ready now.|
Sent 10:14am

After getting dressed, I sit on my couch, passing the time before I leave. I slip my shoes on and grab my phone and bag, heading to the car, locking the door on my way out. A few minutes of driving pass before I park and get out, walking across the street to the cafe, spotting Kat through a window and heading over to the table she's at.

"Afternoon" I say, smiling at her as she looks up from her phone at me.
"Hey you, did you sleep as well as I did?" She giggles, referring to our shift last night that was very hectic.
"I was out like a light as soon as I hit my pillow" I giggle back as I sit down and put my bag on the floor next to my chair.

Hours of chatting, eating, walking and shopping pass, we stop at a pub on the way back to the car for a game of pool. After awhile of playing and laughing, Kat starts to yawn.

"I think it's time for me to head home" she smiles at me and puts her cue away.
"Yeah, I'll head off soon too I think" I put my cue away next to hers and give her a hug "see you at work Monday"
Kat hugs and squeezes a little "yeah, but for now, I go home and sleep" she giggles before letting go, grabbing her stuff and leaving, I wave her off and make sure she makes it to her car before I head back inside

About an hour passes before I start heading to my car, walking down the now darkened street, I am stopped by a man with a knife, glinting from the street lamp.
Very slowly backing up a little I raise my hands, but a moment later I bump into a tall object behind me. The man with the knife looked a bit scared for a moment, before trying to run away, not getting very far before an officer tackles him to the ground.

I look up at what I bumped into, only to see Officer Fenik looking quite serious, before he looks down at me and gives me that goofy smile "hello again" he chuckles.
I can't help but blush lightly as I realize I'm still leaning on him, stepping away and composing myself I smile back "hello Officer."
