Nightmares (Nico Di Angelo)

Nico's POV (in the nightmare)
There was something behind me. I tried to outrun it, but it was just too fast.

It was pitch black, until I saw a silvery light. Like daylight shining at the end of a long tunnel.

When I got to the end, I saw my worst fear come to life. My girlfriend, Y/n, and my little sister Hazel, laying on their backs on a puddle of blood, eyes closed, and not breathing.

I screamed, "NOO!"

I ran up to them, "No... No! Y/n, Hazel! Talk to me! You can't be gone. I can't loose you like I lost her!"

Just then, I heard a chuckle from behind me. "Oh, poor Nico. Only has himself. You know, this was all you fault. You caused this to happen."

I growled, "I'll get you back for what you did to them."

Once again, the man chuckled, "Nico, I admire your confidence. Really, I do. But, you and I both know that you couldn't defeat me even if you had help."

"oh yeah? What makes you think that?" I stood up to fight him, when I felt an immense pain in my chest. I gasped for air. (why am I thinking of something in an anime..?) "W-what are you d-doing? Wh-who are y-ou?"

I started thrashing for air, and immediately woke up, sweating and shaking.

It's okay, Nico. I told myself, It was just a dream...

I tried to go back to sleep, but I just couldn't get the image of Y/n and Hazel laying on the ground, dead. Finally, when I decided I had had enough, I got out of bed, and shadow traveled into the Zeus cabin.

Once I got there, I saw Y/n and Jason sleeping soundly in their bunks. Should I wake her? She does look so peaceful when she's sleeping....

Before I could register what I was doing, I walked over to her bunk, and moved some of her hair out of her face. I gently placed my lips upon her head, and turned to walk out. But before I could make it to the door, she grabbed my wrist.

"Nico," she said, her voice groggy from sleep, "Nico, what's wrong? You should be sleeping. "

I whimpered, "I-I had a n-nightmare, and now I can't sl-sleep"

She looked at me with pain in her eyes, "Oh, Nico." She sighed, "Take me to you cabin, and you can tell me all about it there. So that we don't wake Jason of course."

"Are you sure? I know how much you hate shadow traveling..."

She looked at me and smiled, "Nico, I'll do anything for you. Just take me to your cabin." Then she added, "Please?"

I took a deep breath, grabbed both of her hands, and said, "You ready?"

She too took a deep breath, and answered, "Okay, I'm ready."

Once I shadow traveled us to my cabin, Y/n fell onto her hands and knees.

"Y/n! Are you okay?"

She stood up and dusted here off, "Yeah, I'm good. Now tell me, what was your nightmare about?"

My eyes got glassy, "I don't want to talk about it..."

She sighed, "Nico, you disturbed my precious sleep for this. Please tell me? If you don't yell me, how am I supposed to make you feel better?"

"you're right.... Well, in the nightmare I saw...."

"Nico," she pushed, "I know you can do it. Just tell me. "

"I-i saw you and-and Hazel laying there on the ground, d-dead, and t-then the guy that killed you g-guys, tried to kill m-me. Look, I'm sorry I woke you, but I just needed more assurance that it was just a dream!"

She looked as if she was about to cry, "Oh Nico. Come here."

She opened her arms to hug me, and I gladly accepted, burying my face in her neck to cry. While I was crying, she was whispering in my ear that it was going to be alright, and that she and Hazel were fine and not dead.

Y/n's POV
After I heard what was in Nico's nightmare, I couldn't help but get teary eyed as well. I mean, the poor guy has been through too much already. He was only eleven when he found out that not only was he a demigod, but the demigod son of Hades. And his sister died when he was eleven too.

I opened my arms to embrace him, and he accepted after almost three seconds. I could feel his years in my neck, but I didn't really care.

While he was crying, I just rubbed his back, as an effort to calm him. I also whispered sweet nothing's in his ear.

After about five minutes, his sobs had turned into heavy breaths.

"Nico, are you feeling better?"

He nodded, "Yes, but I still won't be able to sleep..."

An idea popped into my head, "What if I cuddle you?"

He smiled, "That might work."

I laid down in his bed, and motioned for him to lay beside me. When he got comfortable, I wrapped my arms around his waste, and hummed a calming tune. In three minutes, he was fast asleep. I stopped humming, and fell into dream land myself.

In the morning~~
My eyes fluttered open, only to see a very adorable sleeping Nico in my arms.

I wonder what time it is... I thought to myself

"Nico~" I whispered, "It's time to wake up~"

He groaned, and opened his eyes, "Morning, princess. How'd you sleep?"

"Mmm, I slept amazing. But how did you sleep? Did you have another dream?"

He smiled, "Not another dream, thanks to you."

"It's nothing, Neeks. Like I said, I would do anything for you."

"Even if that means waking up in the middle of the night, just so I sleep?"

"Especially then."

He looked me in the eyes, and kisses me. While it only lasted for a few seconds, it felt like it lasted for an eternity.

Meanwhile in the Zeus cabin...
"Y/N!!! WHERE ARE YOU!?"
