The song has absolutely nothing to do with the story, I just thought it went well with it.
Y/n POV
June 16
Dear diary,
Today I'm pretty sure Annabeth found my binder while cabin inspection. Now, if this were Will who saw one, it would be been fine. Reason being, he is the only person at camp who knows I'm trans. And I'm just not ready to tell Annabeth. I'll just have to wait and see what she says.June 17
Dearest diary,
So, Annabeth didn't say anything about the binder she found on the floor yesterday. Either she doesn't want to question it, or she just wants to wait until I'm comfortable enough to tell her. I might have to tell her soon....Annabeth POV
While I was inspecting Y/n's cabin during cabin inspection yesterday. I found something strange laying on the floor; a binder. To be specific, a binder used by trans males. Now, most people would've been freaked out and asked what they found. I, however, knew what was going on. I just wanted to wait until he's comfortable enough to tell me.I wait two days, then I ask, "Hey, Y/n! Do you wanna go for a walk on the beach with me?"
He smiled, "Of course. Just let me go change. I don't wanna walk around, in sweat drenched clothes."
I chuckled, "Of course. I'll wait by your cabin door."
I took his hand, and we walked over to his cabin. While he was busy doing whatever he was doing, I waited outside the cabin door.
Y/n POV
As soon as I left Annabeth outside and closed the door, I took a deep breath and tried to collect myself. I mean, this would be the first time we had actually been alone since she found my binder.I shook my head, and walked over to my bunk so I could change into something that doesn't smell like I had just ran a marathon.
As soon as I was done changing, I put on a smile, and opened the cabin door.
Annabeth smiled, "Hey! You ready?"
I grinned, "I was born ready."
I grabbed her hand, and off we were to the beach. Most of the wall was silent, until she made the first move conversion wise. "So, how was training?"
I shrugged, "It was normal. Except that I can scale the climbing wall without getting burnt."
"That's good, I guess."
I took a deep breath. This is it, Y/n. I told myself. She's going to find out one way or another. It's better that you tell her than she finds out. "Hey, Annabeth..."
She hummed, "Yes?
I took a moment to control my nerves, "There's something I need to tell you. Something I've needed to tell you for a while now, actually."
She stopped walking, and turned to face me. "Y/n." She said, her voice serious. "You know I won't judge you no matter what, right? Cause like it or not, you're stuck with me."
I chuckled, "I guess you're right. So, you remember that thing you picked up off my floor during cabin inspection the other day?"
"Yeah. What about it?"
I kinda doubted she didn't even have a clue what the binder was, but I went along with it. "Right. And, so you know what a binder is"
She tilted her head, "There are two different kinds of binders, Y/n. You're going to have to be more specific."
I almost lot all my courage, so I said all the words I wanted to as of it were one sentence. "I'mtransgender"
She smiled, and wrapped her arms around me neck. When her face was next to my ear, and whispered, "I know. I knew ever since I saw that binder on the floor."
I was shocked, "Y-you knew? A-and you do-don't think it's weird?"
She pulled away and frowned, "Why on earth would I think it's weird?"
O looked down, embarrassed. "W-well, that's how people would normally react to be dating a trans person."
Her eyes looked sympathetic, "Oh, Y/n. I would never hate you, no matter gender, race, or sexuality. No matter what, you will always hold a special place in my heart."
I wrapped my arms around her waist, and pulled her in for a kiss. While it only lasted about two minutes, it felt like it was the longest kiss in history. When we pulled away, I placed my forehead on here and whispered, "Annabeth, I love you."
She smiled, "I love you too, Y/n. With all my heart."
After me coming out as trans, Annabeth helped me with coming out to the rest of camp. While there were those get who didn't approve, the positive outweighed the negative. When I came out to the others, it inspired other LGBTQ people to come out as well.
The only thing that truly matters, is that Annabeth isn't one of those who think it's weird. I truly can't thank the gods enough for an amazing girlfriend like Annabeth.
