The next day I walked downstairs dressed for the day before crossing the exposed wood flooring to the black French doors that led out onto the patio with a marble pool.

Waccabuc made me consistently relive my younger self though the place I fel most peaceful was on the beach near the dock where my dad's catamaran was moored.

Getting down to the sad where each morning a low fog seemed to hang I settled on the sad which was surprisingly dry with my hands around my legs.

Listening to the water and the birds was always calming to me and I could never explain why that was. What captivated me about places so near nature yet on the edge of what I was used to.

Suddenly I became aware of soft footsteps behind me until they stopped on the bricking of the lawn by the steps down to the beach.

"Do you always come out here in the mornings?" Scarlett asks and I turn to face her to see her dressed in grey leggings, a white shirt, and a knee length red cardigan that looked knitted, though it also matched her nails.

"I find it peaceful" I say with a shrug and she smiles.

"Never thought you would be one that would seek peace".

"We all need it, and unfortunately my mind enjoys running with things that it shouldn't".

"So you came to a place where it can do that without anyone else seeing".

"Essentially" I sigh looking back at the lake before she walked down onto the sand and sat down next to me.

"What kinds of things does your mind run with as you put it".

"I many times end up thinking about the kinds of things that bother me so that they have their turn before I simply ignore it all" I muse, "being by water, with trees, and birds, and fog have always been a sort of natural comfort to me".

"I take it that it's working" she says looking at me.

"Yes, speaking of which how did you know I was here?" I ask looking over at her.

"I took the room on the back corner of the house so I saw you walk down here".

"Were you stalking me Scarlett".

"In your dreams Nathan" she quips.

"Sounds more like a nightmare" I smirk and she punches me in the shoulder.

"I was reading a book asshole".

"And I was enjoying the scenery".

"You're infuriating, and I don't know how I became friends with you?".

"I believe things happen for a reason, I believe that after so many years apart us running into one another was something that was supposed to happen. Note I don't believe we have some fated destiny, however I think things that are supposed to happen will" I say looking over at her with a fond smile, and reaching out to push the hair off her face.

"I haven't figured out what the reason we collided was".

Scarlett then laughs and I would be lying if I was to say it wasn't anything less then my favourite sound.

"Literally, and I still don't regret calling you a fucking asshole for knocking my textbooks to the floor, you could have helped me pick them up" she says with a smile on her lips.

"I was too shocked that someone ran into me, I would admit I had the privilege of little French girls not running straight into me" I counter with a confident smile.

"I might be little, I'll still kick your ass".

"In your dreams principessa".

"Yeah and in them you begged me to stop".
