It was like a dream, no, not a dream, a nightmare, yeah, a nightmare. A nightmare I can't admit is a nightmare or I'll be in big trouble. Let me explain.

I closed the door to the bathroom, only I wasn't alone in said bathroom, and I knew that. My wand was up my sleeve, ready to drop in my hand, and that it did. Spinning around fast, I throw the disarming spell at my opponent, coming face to face with... -holy Merlin-.

"Dad?" My spell flies through him, "I'm so sorry, what are you doing here?" I whisper, listening for sounds coming from outside the door, nothing, good.

"Do you really think, speaking to me like that, is a good decision?" his voice sounds airy and threatening.

I cower back into my skin, the shy girl now expressing herself, or rather trying to keep to herself, "I'm sorry, my lord" I revert the the formal title he prefers. I know he's not actually here but being able to see him in person once again is still... unnerving.

"Better, now, for the reason I am here." Voldemort stays where he is standing, the grey skinned man no less threatening in one position in comparison to walking around, his red eyes haunting to anyone who dared look him in the eye, no one ever did though. Down by his feet Nagini slithers out, coming towards me, completely under his control. The imperious curse was my guess.

The fact that Nagini was on my fathers side for the majority of his dark reign was no surprise, Nagini was beautiful, someone I had spent hours with as a child, at least until her blood curse took over, and after Voldemort murdered Bertha Jorkins, she was his permanently.

I miss who she used to be, I can still talk to her, although I don't dare to, if I offend the dark lord, it doesn't matter who you are, you will be tortured. Or killed.

Nagini slid across the floor, her long, thick body horrifying to witness, terrifying on a good day. It was never easy after she became his, but the worse part of it was that if he asked her to kill me. She would. Without a second of hesitation. Without a second thought.

"Your task is... complete for the time being," I raise my eyebrows, what was he saying, I don't understand. My task with Harry? "I have other priorities that need immediate attention. Besides," the dark lord looks between Nagini and I, "it might prove to be a promising adjustment to your current task" in the time it took for Voldemort to drag out his speech, Nagini had curled around herself, lifting up her body to stare me in the eye. Her snake form permanent, but her eyes still had the golden yellow of her past form, I longed to have her back to that true form, to spend one more day, one more minute with her.

I had my fathers gift of parsel-tongue, I didn't use it though, never with Nagini, never near the gang, and certainly not near the Slytherins, they might not know how to speak it, but they sure as hell know what it means.

"What is this other task?" I question, keeping eye contact with Nagini.

The dark lord finally stepped forward, "you must fix the vanishing cabinet, in the room of requirement, assisting Draco Malfoy in both his tasks is imperative for success, cut off your first task, you can finish this new assignment in room 23, do not let them find out our plan!" he hisses, vanishing in a cloud of black smoke without another word.

Draco Malfoy. Harry was right. And now I couldn't even talk to him.

I needed to get out of this dorm. Now! If the dark lord wants no contact with the first assignment, then I have to obey.

Harry.

Oh Merlin, Harry. How is he going to feel when I just stop communicating with him? Who cares? He is just an assignment that I have now finished with for the time being.
