"He's covered in blood again, why is it he's always covered in blood" I heard Ginny talking to Ron and Hermione as Harry, Luna and I, strode down the aisle of the great hall house tables, towards where they were sitting.
"Looks like it's his own this time" Ron grimaced.
I saw Hermione's lips open to ask the constant questions, "Malfoy" I answered before she even got to ask.
Her face scrunches up as she turns to the Slytherin table, looking for the blonde, her expression turning into a look of shock before asking us another question, "he's not here, where is he?" Hermione double checks the table.
"Oops, did I forget to mention?" I coward into my seat, smiling at the girl who opened her mouth in shock and widen her eyes in horror.
"Mia Monroe! What did you do?" she asked me.
Ron was grinning like the Cheshire cat, while Harry was trying not to laugh. "Body-binding curse, plus bushes, equals Yay!" I listed off, lifting my hands in the air at the end.
Harry didn't hold his laughter, Ron neither, where-as Hermione slapped me on the arm with her book.
"Owe!" I squeaked.
I don't get to laugh at our bickering when I catch a platinum haired boy in the corner of my eye, walking towards the Slytherin table. I don't get to question his attendance either, Dumbledore standing at the podium, decides now is the best time for his speech.
"Very best of evenings to you all.." typical Dumbledore speech, I never even focus on these speeches anymore, first year it was like hearing a speech from a pen, not very entertaining, kind of like watching paint dry or the clouds moving in the wind, so why listen at all, I mean it's not going to matt- "...Tom Riddle".
My head snapped up to the podium, why is this old man talking about my farther? Murmuring echos in the great hall, all the students knowing the famous name being linked to the dark wizard, Voldemort.
"Today of course, he's known all over the world by another name," Dumbledore continues, don't say it, please don't say his name, you are just getting people to ask questions and that'll lead to me, so stop, please. "Which is why as I stand looking out upon you all tonight, I'm reminded of a sobering fact: every day, every hour, this very minute perhaps, dark forces attempt to penitrate this castles walls." the old man states, staring directly at Draco.
Why is he staring at Draco? What does he have to do with this?
Dumbledore's eyes then wonder to the other students, landing on Harry "But in the end, their greatest weapon, is you." his eyes then revert to me, just before looking around at all the other students. "Just something to think about. Now off to bed pip-pip" he smiles, turning away from the podium.
"That's cheerful" Ron grumbles, getting up from his seat and heading away from the great hall with the others.
I stay seated, waiting for everyone to leave, "Roe, you coming?" Harry tries to grab my hand, I shake it away from his.
"Yeah, I just want to finish my food" I grin, looking at my plate with only a few things left on it.
"Okay, see you later" he kisses me on the cheek, leaving the great hall.
I can hear all of the footsteps wondering down the halls towards their common rooms, the teachers evacuated from their staff table, leaving only Malfoy and I in the great hall alone. But neither of us realising that the other is here.
Dumbledore knows, he knows I'm Tom Riddles daughter. He has to, it's the only way it makes sense, why he is mentioning he-who-must-not-be-named. Why he looked directly at me when calling us Voldemort's weapons. He knows.
