Chapter 09|The Reason

"Why did you kill him? I thought you'll only get those mother f*ckers right into the cell bars," Lash's voice resonated the place as Taira was blankly staring at the 24-inch screen in front of them.
"I couldn't stop my hands," she answered nonchalantly. Not giving a damn about Lash, trying to get a piece of information from her as he always does.
"The whole truth, Taira Jaz. I need the whole f*cking truth, not your typical response."
They were already with each other for a decade yet some things really weren't meant to change that fast.
They were seated far from each other on their L-shaped sofa in their living room. It was as if, Lash had things enough already that he couldn't just act deaf and blind anymore.
"Can't you just tell me, Taira? I'm near into speculating that you don't trust me at all," mistulang naging isang statue si Taira dahil sa narinig mula sa katabi.
Her heart clenched for a reason that she couldn't decipher. All she knew was, it was kind of painful to hear those words from him.
Of all people, it was Lash Villeza. The person she trusts the most.
"How could you say that?" napatayo na lang siya sa kaniyang kina-uupuan at nilingon si Lash na walang emosyong tumingin sa kaniya.
They both were at the peak of their emotions that they could no longer notice that they were already hurting each other with their words.
"Tama naman ako, hindi ba? You can just tell me the truth but what's stopping you, Taira? I know your secrets, even bits of your soul.
His jaw clenched, indicating that he was having a hard time preventing himself to burst out and spout words he would forever regret.
"Can't you just get yourself out of my business?" pagsuko nito na lalong ikinaigting ng panga ni Lash. Hindi siya makapaniwala sa narinig.
Taira on the other side bit her inside cheeks as her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
They haven't fought for something deep like this.
