The Prodigy

Prologue

15 years before the outbreak of the clone wars a child was born in the planet of Taris. Unfortunately for the child his mother had given her life in the process of his birth, the father was an unknown this being due to the fact that the child was a result of a wild night out the mother had a few months earlier. As the doctor delivered the baby the mother said she wanted to hold her son as she held the newly born baby boy she whispered with the last of her breath that she will always be watching over him. With the last words being uttered the mother left this plane of existence to join the force, the doctor simply sighed heavily as he had warned the mother that she would not be able survive the pregnancy a few days earlier due to her weakened state, but she insisted anyways thus as the doctor took the child away from the corpse of his mother he pronounced her time of death and gave the baby boy to a nurse. The mother said that her parents would care for the baby and they would pick him up a few days after he was born, but as the days turned to weeks and the weeks morphed into a month it was clear there was no one coming to pick up the boy. The doctor now had no other choice but to surrender the child to an orphanage, but the moment he was about to contact the orphanage a stranger walked into his office. The stranger was wearing a cloak that hid their face and body, the doctor asked if he could help the stranger the stranger simply replied that they were their to see a child, it was at this moment the stranger unveiled themselves and the person behind the hood was a female togruta, and she said.

Shaak Ti : Oh! How terribly rude of me my name is Shaak Ti and I am a member of the Jedi order, I have come here to see a particular child.

Doctor : I apologize master Jedi but could you be more specific there are many children in this hospital.

Shaak Ti : Well the problem is that I am unsure myself I was passing by Taris on my way back to Coruscant when I felt a strong pull from the force that brought me here.

Doctor : I see well I suppose I could show you the nursery of the hospital.

Shaak Ti : Excellent!

As the pair walked towards the nursery Shaak Ti felt a large amount of force energy eminating from the room and when the doctor opened the door she was assailed by an even larger force presence, she scanned the room and found the source of said force power it was a crying baby boy who was upset as he was awoken by the door opening. The closer the Jedi walked towards the boy the more the force seeped out of him, she picked him up and soothed the child to ease his crying but it seemed to have little to no effect just as the doctor was about to tell her to stop the boy settled his unrest.

Doctor : Amazing usually when that one cries it usually lasts hours.

Shaak Ti : He only needed someone to comfort him. What is his name?

Doctor : We haven't really named him yet in fact we were about to send him to an orphanage.

Shaak Ti : Why would you do that?

Doctor : His mother died at childbirth and no other relatives have claimed him, we simply cannot keep him here as there are other patients who could benefit from the resources we are providing him with.

Shaak Ti : Well if that's the case may I take him?

Doctor : I would have to check with my superiors but it if all checks out I don't see why not.
