Eleven was sat on the small couch in front of us. It was still raining very heavily, and I was absolutely exhausted. Of course I already knew who she was, but they didn't.

"Is there a number we can call for your parents?" Mike asks her.

"Where's your hair? Do you have cancer?" Dustin asks her, earning a slap to the head from me.

"Ow! What I was just asking?" He says with an eyeroll.

"Did you run away?" Lucas speaks up.

"Are you in some kind of trouble?" Mike asks again.

"Is that blood?" Lucas questions while reaching out to touch her.

I quickly smack his hand away before he can.

"Stop it! You're freaking her out!" Mike yells.

"Well, she's freaking me out!" Lucas retorts back.

"I bet she's deaf." Dustin calls out, and then proceeds to slap his hands together to test it out.

"Would you all shut up!" I shout at them.

I crouch down to El's height, and introduce myself.

"Hi, sweetie. My name is Raine. Please ignore the three dinguses in the back. They forget common sense in these situations." I explain to her softly.

She just looks at me, still shaking.

"Can you understand me alright? You don't have to speak yet, but can you please nod your head for me?" I ask.

She does a small head nod indicating that she could understand us. Of course I know she could, but you never know. It could be some freaky multiverse shit.

"Mike, can you grab me some clothes, and even maybe some towels or blankets?" I ask the boy.

"Yeah." He says before quickly running to the corner of the room to grab them.

He hands me an extra pair of clothes.

"There should be some extra blankets upstairs." He says quietly.

"Well how about you boys go get them while I stay down here with her, hmm?" I asked them with a 'get tf outta here' look.

"Yeah....yeah. Coming right up." Dustin says while quickly running up the stars.

Eleven was already starting to undress, so i'm glad they left when they did.

"Hey, sweetheart?" I say to get her attention.

She looks up at me.

"You see- Well... How do I explain this? Normally people don't change in front of other people, unless you are very, very close with them. I just wanted to let you know, so you wouldn't accidentally do it at the wrong time." I explain.

She makes an 'o' shape with her mouth, and proceeds to change.

"Do you mind telling me your name?" I ask her softly. Of course I already know her name, but she can't know that.

She points to her wrist, and then continues putting the sweat pants on.

"That's your name?" I ask.

She simply nods yes.

"Okay, Eleven. It's nice to meet you." I say with a smile.

"For future reference, when i'm not over here, there is a bathroom you can change in for privacy." I tell her while gesturing to the bathroom.

"Why do not change in front of each other?" She asks quietly.

"Well because as I said, it's considered weird I guess. I'm not sure, really." I tell her honestly.
