"What were you saying?" she asked, her eyes filled with innocent curiosity.
He looked at her and smiled.
"I said that I'll be here for you, always."
She smiled. "Because that's what best friends are for."
"Yeah," he said quietly and looked at her. His chest hurt. "Because that's what best friends are for."
