I love you, Lord
I can't deny
The love in my heart blooms generously
When for me, you chose to die
Your miracles never fail to amaze
Your teachings never fail to help
Us through this black, unforgiving haze
Such joy I have never felt
You shielded me from the hail
You guided me through the fog
You rescued me from the lightning
You prevented my hapless fall
And though I keep hurting and angering you
You bring forgiveness like a sweet breath
But you always give me the will to try again
And to never fear the prospect of death
So I do
And I feel like I'm so blessed
I feel like I have abundant water
In the hot and lonely desert
So, Lord
As wretched as I may be
I thank you for your patience and love and everything
For like an eagle, I feel strong and free.
