I backed away, frightened for my life. Xiao stalked close as bl00d dripped down his mouth, his eyes were blank white with no emotion showing.
"Xiao please, don't give in..."
"Xiao, you do as I command, now attack!"
I screamed and everything went dark.

AETHER POV:
"Adopt a a pet!" exclaimed Lumine
I binked and looked at her in confusion.
"You always say you would adopt, you even have a stable job and everything! I think now is a good time for a pet" she explained
"I don't know if I'm ready for a pet yet, its already a lot for me to take care of my-sel-"
I was interrupted by Lumine dragging me away to the car.
"Stop worrying and just do it!"

Lumine stoped by the front desk to chat with the lady there while I went to look at some pets. A baby deer came up to me and nuzzled my foot.
"Oh that's Yanfei, she just recently got saved from being trapped in a hunters trap" said Lia, she was one of the caretakers.
I walked around some more before I spotted a particular black/greenish cat sitting in the courtyard corner. I walked over to it mesmerized by its eyes, they were a bright shade of gold with piercing dark, rust colored gold.
"That's Turtle, he's been returned 7 times due to his behavior, he's pretty fierc-"
"I'll take him"
Thats how I met dear "Turtle", how everything turned upside down after that...
