Maddie immediately came to the Rez the moment she heard the news about her daughter. It's like happening all over again. First her husband and her daughter.
"No. It can't be" she thought as she held her daughter's cold hand. She can't even recognize her own daughter with all the bruises that made her face swollen and unrecognizable.
She can't imagine what she must have gone through.
"Can I talk to you for a second, Maddie?"
Maddie let go of her daughter's hand and walked outside to talk to Billy.
"What is it?" She asked, wiping her tears away.
"She wouldn't last longer...." Billy started "...anytime now, her body will give up"
"What do you mean, Dad?"
Billy looked at Jacob, before looking down, "Even with Vampire's venom, she won't make it. She might not be able to shift, but she has our blood and it will resist it from spreading further"
"How can you be so sure?"
"No one would make it out alive, barely alive, encountering not one, but two vampires, Maddie. She might not be able to shift, but she's gifted, still"
Maddie then realized something. Maybe Billy is right. She couldn't shift just like the others, but she felt and had experienced the same symptoms just like the rest. She's just different.
"Is there something we could do?"
Billy was quiet for a while, "There is one, but it's against the law of our pack"
"Dad, could you please forget about our rules for a moment. It's Margaux's life we're talking about"
"What is it, Billy?"
"Turn her. If there's more venom in her system. Her werewolf blood won't be able to resist and fight it all off. Giving her more chance to live, but Maddie we can't do that. It's against the pack law. If she turned, it's like commiting a crime. She'll become our enemy"

"Where is she!? Let me see her!"
Radleigh shouted as Emmett held him back. He's out of his mind. Carlisle, Jasper, Alice, Edward, Emmett and Radleigh came to the Rez after hearing about what happened to Margaux.
"Calm down, Rad" Carlisle put his hand on his shoulder.
"Calm down? The f*ck is that? Margaux is f*cking fighting for her life, Carlisle. I need to see her before it's f*cking too late--get your f*cking arms off me, Emmett"
"Shut up, Radleigh"
"What is going on here?" Sam and the rest of the pack, some of them in their wolf form, circled around them. "You're not supposed to be here" he said, some wolves ready to attack.
A wolf did attacked, but Jasper managed to pushed it away. "Wait! We're here for Margaux. Maddie called us for help" Alice said, stopping the rest of them to do something.
As of on cue, Maddie got out of the cabin, running towards them. "Sam! Let them in"
"What is this, Maddie?"
"I won't just sit around and wait for my daughter to die, Sam"
Maddie motioned her head towards the cabin. Radleigh, Edward and Emmett sped up towards it, coming out with Margaux on Radleigh's arms.
"You can't do this to your daughter, Margaux. This is selfishness"
"I know. I've been selfish before and I can be selfish, again. Go on, Mr. Ford"
Radleigh nodded, not wasting anytime. Speeding up to go home, followed by Carlisle and Edward.
"If you do this, your daughter...."
"I am aware of that and I don't care. I lost my husband before and I don't wanna lost her, I can't. I refuse...."
Her tears starts to fall.
"....she's the only one I have left. I hope you understand"

"You know, maybe Aunt Maddie's ideas isn't that bad" said Jacob.
His father looked at him like he just grew another head.
"Maybe the reason she's different because she's not supposed to be like us, Dad. Maybe she meant to be something else, to be part of something else"
"She imprinted on one of them, after all" he thought. Margaux didnt have any idea about imprinting and when she told him about her feelings for someone, Jake couldn't be more wrong. She really imprinted on someone. He just realized recently that it was one of the Cullen when he saw Radleigh and Margaux together.
"A vampire, you mean..." Billy scoffed. "Maddie's just selfish. She just couldn't get out of the misery of losing her husband and now she's putting her daughter in misery too"
Jacob just looked at his Dad, who is clearly drunk. He sighed. No matter how hard he tries to see the situation on his Dad's point of view, he couldn't seem to hate the whole idea of turning Margaux into something he hate the most, if it's gonna be the only way to keep her with them.
They're cousin by blood, but bestfriends by choice and nothing could ever change that. He can make an exception for her. Just for her.
