Rooster and I top gun maverick story. Rooster endgame

Part 13

They message just early in the morning saying that the mission is today. They said that we have no time and we have to get to the Academy right away. All of us went to the Academy as fast as we could. Now I was getting scared because we didn't have one more day to work on it. I saw Rooster and we walked in together we quickly got dressed and we headed out. Once we got to the correct location it all just began. I hugged my dad one last time because I was pretty nervous he told me to "not think just do." I smiled and walked away. I walked to Rooster and we said good luck to each other and kissed.  I said good luck to Phoenix and we were off.

We all got in our jets and my dad led us. He went first then Phoenix and Bob then it was Rooster and then it was me. We were flying for a bit and my dad told us to get in position. We did and there is no going back now because of the missiles. As we got closer to the land we all made sure that we were ready. Then the time hit. First my dad and then everyone else. The first part wasn't too hard. But then rooster started to slow down I told him that we were few seconds behind we had to go faster. He didn't say anything after that. I kept on reminding him he still didn't say anything. But then something hit him and he went faster. He was going much faster that I could barley catch up. My dad asked if we were close and he said yes. They got the first miracle. We went up the mountain and then down and I got the laser  ready and we got a direct hit. Then we got miracle number two. Now what we had to do was make miracle number three. This was the worst of it all. We were doing fine but just then I said they were smoke in the sky and my dad saved Rooster and he went down. I wanted to scream and cry so much my dad was gone. Rooster said that we had to go back and help him but Phoenix had it was too late. Tears running down my face I couldn't believe it. Right after that Rooster went to help. But now he might be gone too. I wanted to cry even more but we got yelled at to go back.

"Roosters POV"
I had to go back I can't just leave him. I knew my dad would do the same and would've helped him. I just knew that Maddie would be pissed at me but I couldn't leave him behind. I was searching for him and I saw a helicopter. And then I saw was shooting at Maverick so I shot the helicopter. I bet he didn't see that coming. I knew that he would still be alive. I trusted my gut. Just then I got hit. I quickly evacuated and I fell right down. I landed in snow which was kinda nice. I was rolling up my parachute and I saw Maverick running to me. He asked if I was all right so I said yes. But then he flew me to the ground. I got up and asked "what that was for, I just saved your ass!"He said that he saved my ass and that I shouldn't be here. He said what was I thinking. But he told me not to think so I did. He had no words after that. He knew I was right. I asked how we are going to get out and he said he had a plan. I said you're joking and he said nope and started walking over. I said there are  people over there and I said there was more on the other side. I told him we should start running so we did. When we got there I asked if this thing will work. He said he didn't know. He said once he starts the engine turn this on. He said once he gets in I have to unplug everything. He quickly got in and started the engine. I started it up and started running to unplug things. Once everything was unplugged I quickly got in to the jet. The first thing I said was holy shit this is old. He said that Goose and I flew these things. I asked how we're gonna get out of this place because both sides were destroyed. Of course he had a plan and then he started going. Just then my only words were holy shit and I closed my eyes. We made it and he told me to put on my tracker. Then we started going. I asked how to work the radio and he said that it was my dads job not his. I said that I would figure it out. We're going back and then to jet's stated to come by us. I asked him what we are going to do and he said act cool we're on their team. He said put on your mask and wave. So we did then they started to do random signs. I asked what that means and he said that he's never seen it. So Maverick acted like he knew what he did and told them a sign and then did the sign back and asked what that meant and he said he had no clue. But then they started getting into a fighting position. And we were off Maverick went lower because he knew that would throw one of the pilots off and I did and it worked. We got another plane and thought we were ok but then one came out of nowhere. And we had no ammo left. Maverick had an idea to throw them off. He showed where the emergency handles were and said to pull them when he tells me. So I got ready and we started to go up. We were going and he told me to pull it. I tried and it wouldn't go. He was yelling at me and I told him it wouldn't go. We both got super scared and we didn't know what else to do. All Maverick said was "I'm sorry Rooster." All I could think of was Maddie. We both are leaving her. I loved that girl with my whole heart. I can't imagine how she is feeling. I thought I could help Maverick but now I'm hurting her. Just then the plane blew up. Someone just saved our lives. Just then a jet flew past us and circled around. It was Maddie. She said " I hate you guys you almost died." Maverick and I both said " nice to see you too." We all smiled and she went back. We went right after her. We had no front wheel so they had to improvise.

"Back to Maddie's POV"
When I heard they found a location for Rooster I teared up even more because of how happy I was. Then they realized my dad was with I started to smile. I was so relieved that they made it. Then I went to go help them and I saved there asses. I was mad at them but super glad to see them. I went back to land and when I landed I saw them fly right in front of us. I smiled that they were getting along. I got out and once they landed I sprinted to them. Rooster got out and looked for me. When I saw me running he smiled. I ran up and hugged him. I wrapped my legs around him and he squeezed me so hard I could barley breathe. But I didn't care I'm just glad he safe. He kissed me like no one has before. I loved this man. I told him that and he said it back. Then I ran up to my dad and gave him a big hug. I told him how much it scared me to think that he was gone. He brought me into another hug. After I saw that Rooster and my dad hugged. I was so happy. Those two have my heart. Once everyone was done cheering Rooster pulled me into him and we kissed one last time. Once we got home he spent the night. I was glad we were all safe.
