Charlie held tightly to her seat as her brother sped into a parking spot. She was never a fan of going so fast unlike her brother.

Max, Charlie's step sister, climbed out of the car without a word, dropping her skateboard and skating away.

Charlie always liked how Max was so cool and didn't take crap from anyone. She wished to be like that.

The blonde had to move the front seat forward so she was able to get out.

"She ditch you already." Billy, her brother gave her a look, already out of the car.

Charlie sighed, slamming the car door shut not caring if he got mad. "I know you don't like Max, even more now that we moved. But can you please stop, Billy. She never asked for this either. And I love Max."

Billy rolled his eyes at her. He knew Charlie was the kindest person he knew. She was so sweet and cared very much for people. But he also knew that would get her in trouble one day. And he was not going to lose her.

"I don't need another sister, Lottie. Not when I have you." He smiled that charming smile. He was the only person to call her Lottie, that name was reserved for him only.

Charlie chuckled, never able to stay mad at him for long. "It's been five years, B. I figured you would've got used to it by now."

"Hey." He stopped her from leaving. "Have a good day. Anyone mess with you, let me know? I'll kick their asses."

Charlie grinned. "Will do, big bro."

She whirled around walking the way Max went. The blonde scrunched her nose in disgust when she noticed all the girls were staring at her brother.

Charlie finally caught up with Max who apologized for leaving her but she couldn't stand being by Billy.

It hurt the girl that even after years, her siblings couldn't stand each other. In California, the two had after a while began to act like siblings. But then Billy got expelled and they had to move.
